The German Shepherd attacked a woman in Tamworth’s Wigginton Park\"WiggintonWigginton Park in Tamworth<\/p>\n

A Birmingham man who ‘recklessly allowed’ his dog to bite a woman on the hand has been banned from keeping animals.<\/p>\n

‘Irresponsible’ Kieron Nickless was in control of the white German Shepherd at a property near Tamworth’s Wigginton Park<\/a> when the animal attacked the victim.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old, from Handsworth<\/a>, was disqualified at North Staffordshire Justice Centre from owning and keeping animals for five years after admitting to being in charge of the dog when it sunk its teeth into the woman.<\/p>\n

He was banned from owning, keeping, participating in, or being party to an arrangement relating to the upkeep of animals under section 24 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.<\/p>\n

PC Shannon Fearn, of Tamworth<\/a> local policing team, said: “I am pleased the judge has banned Nickless from being involved in the keeping of animals after he so recklessly let this dog injure the victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope this reassures the community that we’re committed to protecting them from irresponsible owners and will bring offenders before the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Staffordshire<\/a> Police spokesperson added: “A man has been disqualified from owning and keeping animals for five years after admitting being the person in charge of a dog that bit a woman in Tamworth last year.<\/p>\n

“Kieron Nickless, 25, of Handsworth, Birmingham<\/a>, was handed the ban on Tuesday, November 25, by magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre.<\/p>\n
