For those with a penchant for the finer things in life, there’s one destination that should be on your list. Europe is peppered with countries that embrace luxury, from the fashion-centric city of Milan to the affluent Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

However, recent research by PrivateUpgrades<\/a> reveals that the ‘poshest’ spot is none other than Geneva in Switzerland. The study scrutinised over 100 European cities, comparing their density of five-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and golf courses per capita to identify the most luxurious city.<\/p>\n

Each city was scored out of 100, with Geneva clinching an impressive 98.3 on the posh scale.<\/p>\n

The city boasts the highest number of golf courses per capita, at 7.36, and a concentration of 57 Michelin Guide restaurants and 18 five-star hotels per 100 square kilometres of the city area.<\/p>\n

Often dubbed as the ‘private banking capital of Switzerland’, Geneva is tucked away on the country’s southern edge, bordering France, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It serves as the headquarters for the Red Cross, the World Health Organisation and the World Trade Organisation.<\/p>\n

This swanky city offers a plethora of activities – even for those not flush with cash. Conveniently located near the Swiss Alps and surrounded by stunning lakes and rivers, Geneva is ripe for exploration.<\/p>\n

A must-visit attraction in the city is the Old Town. With its maze-like streets, this walkable historical treasure is perfect for a day of discovery.<\/p>\n

Despite Geneva being known for its high costs, there are ways to keep expenses down, particularly when it comes to getting around.<\/p>\n

Given the city’s compact size and walkability, there’s no need to fork out for taxis.<\/p>\n

Even better, many hotels provide a card that grants free access to public transport – just make sure to check if this is offered at your chosen accommodation when booking.<\/p>\n

For foodies eager to sample one of the many Michelin Guide restaurants, Nat\u00fcrlich is a great place to start.<\/p>\n

This modern bistro serves up sharing plates featuring fresh and unique ingredients, such as roast cuttlefish.<\/p>\n
