Spain retained their Women’s Nations League title with a 3-0 aggregate success over Germany, with all the goals coming via Barcelona players in Tuesday’s second leg in Madrid.<\/p>\n
Claudia Pina scored twice while her club-mate Vicky Lopez was also on target at the Estadio Metropolitano, as La Roja pulled clear after battling to a goalless draw away from home last week.<\/p>\n
Pina’s side-footed effort from the edge of the area squirmed past goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger just after the hour mark, after Spain had dominated the first half without reward.<\/p>\n
And their lead was doubled within seven minutes as Lopez sauntered inside from the right flank before curling a left-footed effort into the far corner, with Berger unable to get anything more than a fingertip to the ball.<\/p>\n
But Spain, who have seen their star midfielder Aitana Bonmati ruled out for several months due to a broken leg,\u00a0saved the pick of their goals for last as Pina drove forward before unleashing a powerful, right-footed effort from near the edge of the D, which arrowed into the roof of the net.<\/p>\n
Reigning world champions Spain have now won both of the first two editions of the Nations League, having defeated France 2-0 to secure the 2023-24 crown.<\/p>\n
