It will be the Chinese cruise line&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweekly.com\/River-Cruising\/Century-Cruises-Europe-expansion-partnership-with-United-Waterways\" ek-link=\"true\" title=\"first river ship to sail in Europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first river ship to sail in Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural sailing will be an eight-day Danube cruise departing Sept. 18. Photo Credit: Century Cruises<\/p>\n<p>The vessel can accommodate 174 passengers and is being constructed with the environment in mind, the company said. The ship will have a hybrid propulsion system and a hull created from recycled steel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The hull was designed by Concordia Damen Shipbuilding, while the interior was created by MDesigns, a firm that drew inspiration from destinations along the Danube. For example, Century Cruises said the Black Forest inspired the atmosphere of the main restaurant, and the design was recognized as a CSI Awards 2025 Finalist for Concept of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>The ship&#8217;s bar and lounge will pay homage to Baroque architecture and Vienna&#8217;s famous coffee houses, while the cabins will evoke a Serbian home &#8220;with touches of local folklore,&#8221; the company said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>David Fredericks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweekly.com\/River-Cruising\/Century-Cruises-promotes-David-Fredericks\" ek-link=\"true\" title=\"Century Cruises&#039; president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Century Cruises&#8217; president<\/a> and general manager of the Americas, said &#8220;Eastern elegance and hospitality meet Western style&#8221; on the Century Star.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"What the Century Star's lounge will look like.\" title=\"What the Century Star's lounge will look like.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/What-the-Century-Star's-lounge-will-look-like..jpg\"   class=\"img-responsive img-fullwidth\"\/><\/p>\n<p>What the Century Star&#8217;s lounge will look like.
