Wilfried Nancy is finally on his way to Glasgow, it is being reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has been multiple weeks since the Frenchman became the frontrunner for the Parkhead hotseat, and Martin O\u2019Neill<\/a> has remained in interim charge for longer than expected amid a big hold-up.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, this hasn\u2019t at all been a bad thing, with O\u2019Neill winning six of his seven matches since replacing Brendan Rodgers.<\/a><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill confirmed that Wednesday\u2019s match would be his last<\/a> in his pre-match press conference, and it now looks like Nancy\u2019s<\/a> appointment will be confirmed before kick-off.<\/p>\n

This is per a report in the Daily Record,<\/a> which says that Nancy will touch down in Scotland on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Wilfried Nancy finally set for Celtic unveiling<\/p>\n

Nancy has reportedly been hard at work at Celtic,<\/a> in the expectation that his appointment would be confirmed.<\/p>\n

The process has dragged on, leaving the Hoops with a dilemma amid calls from the support for O\u2019Neill to be given until the Premier Sports Cup<\/a> final, or even until the new year.<\/p>\n

But clearly, the club\u2019s intention is to get Nancy in the door as soon as possible, regardless of circumstances. <\/p>\n

The report says that Nancy could be in the stands for the Dundee match, giving him an opportunity to take in the atmosphere before his first home match on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The appointment was delayed by \u2018red tape\u2019 as club officials got about finalising the paperwork, leaving O\u2019Neill in charge for longer than he expected.<\/p>\n

But the 73-year-old Parkhead icon will get a well-deserved send-off on Wednesday evening, as he takes charge of what will likely be his final match in charge of Celtic.<\/a><\/p>\n

After that, it\u2019s full steam ahead for Nancy, ahead of a crucial top-of-the-table six-pointer against Hearts.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s an irony in the Hoops\u2019 previous match against Hearts being Rodgers\u2019 last, before the reverse fixture being Nancy\u2019s first.<\/p>\n

But talk of Honda Civics is now firmly behind us, as the Celts gear up for a new era.<\/p>\n
