A Scots gran has been left devastated after callous crooks raided her home and made off with Christmas gifts<\/a> she had bought for her family.<\/p>\n Julia Kelly, 93, was at home on Drummond Street in Edinburgh <\/a>on November 29 when a duo – a man and a woman – knocked on her door. The pair tried to sell the pensioner items, which she refused.<\/p>\n The woman then asked if she could use her toilet, which gave the man the “opportunity to steal her belongings”. Julia’s granddaughter, Safia, said the couple allegedly fled carrying Julia’s purse <\/a>containing \u00a3100 in cash.<\/p>\n She also claims they swiped Christmas gifts <\/a>that were laid out on her sofa, including Clinique items and a diamante necklace.<\/p>\n Speaking to Edinburgh Live<\/a>, Safia said: “She literally just got back from the shop that day. So there was a diamante necklace for me, a box of Clinique products. They took her purse with her bank cards, driving license that she uses for ID.<\/p>\n “\u00a3100 cash, and it was a purse her sister bought her a few years ago so that meant a lot to her too. My granny likes being prepared for Christmas<\/a>, so she already had most of her gifts sorted.<\/p>\n “They took the majority of them. She’s back to square one, she’ll have to get everything <\/a>again. But she’s like superpower, she’s got so much energy in her.<\/p>\n “No one deserves this especially at Christmas time.”<\/p>\n Julia was able to provide a description<\/a> of the couple, saying they were both grey haired and around five foot three. The woman had a red puffer jacket and blue jeans on.<\/p>\n The man was wearing <\/a>a brown jacket and black and grey joggers.<\/p>\n Police Scotland<\/a> confirmed they had received reports of a theft Officers said inquiries, which are at an early stage, remain ongoing.<\/p>\n Safia said: “My gran is really resilient. I have a feeling she is shook inside though.
