No, the most popular segment is in <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/travel\/in-colombia-cyclists-arent-a-nuisance-theyre-part-of-the-national-story\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/travel\/in-colombia-cyclists-arent-a-nuisance-theyre-part-of-the-national-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colombia<\/a> \u2013 a climb called the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/arriba.travel\/2025\/01\/30\/discover-bogota-by-bike-a-cyclists-guide-to-the-famous-alto-de-patios\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/arriba.travel\/2025\/01\/30\/discover-bogota-by-bike-a-cyclists-guide-to-the-famous-alto-de-patios\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"noopener\">Alto de Patios<\/a> on the outskirts of Bogot\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>According to Strava, the exercise app that released its annual Year in Sport report today, the segment most ridden by its users in 2025 is named \u2018<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/segments\/8024836?filter=overall\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/segments\/8024836?filter=overall\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"noopener\">Mi Segmento: de la redomita a Patios<\/a>\u2019, and covers 5.5km of the road out of the Colombian capital to the town of La Calera, locally known as the Patios climb.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"4a434423-6339-470a-8351-b5fe1052f1e0-2\">The segment was ridden by over 34,000 different people in the first 11 months of 2025 alone \u2013 that\u2019s 102 new faces a day.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p>The KOM for the segment is held by elite Guatemalan rider Julio Ispache, who clocked 13 minutes and 37 seconds last October, averaging a speed of 22.8kph. Former <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/racing\/tour-de-france\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/racing\/tour-de-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tour de France<\/a> winner <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/news\/21-things-you-didnt-know-about-egan-bernal\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/news\/21-things-you-didnt-know-about-egan-bernal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Egan Bernal<\/a>, Colombia\u2019s first and only yellow jersey winner, came within a second of the crown earlier this year, when he set the fastest time on the official, longer segment of &#8216;Belisario-Patios&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">The QOM, the fastest female time on the segment, is 17 minutes and 23 seconds (19kph), held by Colombian professional cyclist Camila Valbuena.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">Cycling is the second most popular sport in Colombia, after football, and holds a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/travel\/in-colombia-cyclists-arent-a-nuisance-theyre-part-of-the-national-story\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/travel\/in-colombia-cyclists-arent-a-nuisance-theyre-part-of-the-national-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep-rooted place in the country&#8217;s culture as both a mode of transport and a pastime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:76.04%;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/SPcUqPpFYu3osfqEZ26iHD.png\" alt=\"Strava segment details for the Alto de Patios\"   loading=\"lazy\" data-new-v2-image=\"true\" data-original-mos=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/SPcUqPpFYu3osfqEZ26iHD.png\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/SPcUqPpFYu3osfqEZ26iHD.png\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p>The most popular Strava segment in the world is at 3,000m altitude, and has been attempted more than 2.8 million times. <\/p>\n<p>(Image credit: Strava)<\/p>\n<p id=\"5336d861-8235-4669-9b6b-0542c877f45b\">Strava\u2019s second most popular cycling segment is in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, and comprises a 1.49km-long riverside stretch called \u2018Hebraica-Rebou\u00e7as x Cidade Jardim\u2019. More than 26,000 different users rode the segment this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">The latest race content, interviews, features, reviews and expert buying guides, direct to your inbox!<\/p>\n<p>The third most popular segment is in London, in the south-western borough of Wandsworth, and is simply called \u2018Bridge Sprint\u2019. Cycling Weekly was unable to find it on the platform, however Wandsworth Bridge is a busy commuting road into the city, and received a protected <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/fitness\/cycle-lanes-that-dont-join-up-just-make-everyone-look-a-bit-stupid-why-do-so-many-bike-lanes-just-end\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/fitness\/cycle-lanes-that-dont-join-up-just-make-everyone-look-a-bit-stupid-why-do-so-many-bike-lanes-just-end\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cycle lane<\/a> two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>After its inception in 2009, Strava&#8217;s exercise-sharing platform today counts 180 million users around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Year in Sport data captures information from its users\u2019 activities in the the year from 1 September 2024 to 30 August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>While most of the report relates to running \u2013 Strava\u2019s number one activity \u2013 there are a handful of interesting cycling insights. For example, the most popular <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/group-tests\/best-road-bikes-461550\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/group-tests\/best-road-bikes-461550\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">road bike<\/a> brand used by Strava users is <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/tag\/trek-bicycle\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/tag\/trek-bicycle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trek<\/a>, followed by <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/tag\/specialized\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/tag\/specialized\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Specialized<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/reviews\/brand\/giant\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/reviews\/brand\/giant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Giant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The order flips slightly for <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/group-tests\/adventure-road-and-gravel-bikes-a-buyers-guide-187448\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/group-tests\/adventure-road-and-gravel-bikes-a-buyers-guide-187448\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gravel<\/a> and mountain bikes, with Specialized replacing Trek in top sport for both disciplines.
