\n While officials from the US and Ukraine are flying around the world to try and negotiate an end to Russia\u2019s war, ordinary Ukrainians have no choice but to watch and hope that the conflict will be over soon.\n <\/p>\n
\n Following the news that lengthy talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US officials in Moscow yesterday did not result in any breakthroughs, CNN spoke to Ukrainians on the streets of Kyiv to hear their thoughts on the current status of peace talks.\n <\/p>\n
\n Vira Krolivets, a resident of Kyiv, told CNN she had hoped that US President Donald Trump \u201cwould help us.\u201d Now, she believes that the US is instead looking out for its own financial interests, \u201cand we are left on our own.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Andriy Fomichov, an IT specialist whose parents live in a Russian-occupied area of Ukraine, told CNN that ceding Ukrainian land was not acceptable.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe have a constitution, and we have territory. My parents are still in the occupied territory, so how can we say, \u2018We\u2019re giving up on you\u2019? That\u2019s impossible,\u201d he said.\n <\/p>\n
\n Meanwhile, Kateryna Oliinyk, a mother of two from the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, said that she believed the land occupied by Russia was already lost.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cHonestly, I think that we have already lost the territories we have lost.
