Wythenshawe<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe road was cordoned off amid the emergency response, close to the Flying Horse pub. It was later confirmed the crash involved three vehicles.<\/p>\n
Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collisions Unit are investigating the crash, which is thought to have left a girl injured. Enquiries remain ongoing.<\/p>\n
The road remained closed for over an hour, as pictures showed fire crews working at the scene after the part of the vehicle was removed to rescue her from inside one of the cars involved. She was rushed to hospital from the scene.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: \u201cAt around 4.20pm on Wednesday 3 December, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Longstone Road, Manchester.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne fire engine from Wythenshawe and the enhanced rescue unit from Leigh were mobilised to the incident, which involved three vehicles.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirefighters used specialist equipment to safely extricate a girl from one of the vehicles. She was then taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Fire crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and twenty minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Greater Manchester Police<\/a> spokesperson added: “We were called at around 4.15pm to a collision on Longstone Road, Manchester.
