A large emergency services response was called to a Liverpool city centre hotel after a fire broke out. Crews were called to the Leonardo Hotel on Keel Wharf, near the Albert Dock<\/a>, at 9.53pm on Wednesday, December 4 and arrived at the scene at 9.57pm.<\/p>\n Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service <\/a>said when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a blaze on the fourth floor of the hotel. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance were sent to the scene, and several ambulances were seen stationed outside the hotel.<\/p>\n Six firefighters <\/a>fought the fire with two main jet hoses and searched the area. The blaze was was extinguished at around 10.30pm and electric fans were used to clear the area of smoke.<\/p>\n Merseyside Police were also called to the scene and people staying at the hotel were later allowed back into the lobby area just before midnight. Photos from the scene showed several fire engines in attendance, while firefighters were seen working inside the building on the stairway.
