The Duke of Sussex cracked jokes about US President Donald Trump<\/a> during a surprise appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/a>.<\/p>\n Harry featured in a comedy<\/a> skit that was broadcast on Wednesday evening, portraying himself as he tries out to become a Hallmark film “Christmas<\/a> prince”. I hear you elected a king,” in what appeared to be a nod to the “No Kings” demonstrations aimed at the Trump administration.<\/p>\n Alluding to CBS’ recent settlement with Mr Trump, the duke jested that he would “do anything” to land the role, stating: “I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House – all the things you people in TV do.”<\/p>\n Colbert responded: “Hey, I didn’t do any of those things,” to which Harry retorted: “Maybe that’s why you’re cancelled.”<\/p>\n The skit then evolved into a festive display, with trees materialising and sleigh bells chiming as Harry encouraged Colbert to “just believe”. Colbert later announced to Harry that he had secured the position of “official Late Show prince of Christmas”, much to the delight of the audience.<\/p>\n The duo initially hinted at the guest appearance in a video released on Wednesday, which included a viral soundbite from the Great British Bake Off<\/a>. Joining Colbert were other esteemed guests, including Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon<\/a> and Irish actress-cum-singer Jessie Buckley.<\/p>\n This marks the Duke’s second appearance on the Late Show, with his previous visit taking place in January 2023 to promote his memoir, Spare. Harry’s debut on the show set a two-year viewership record and garnered international media attention.<\/p>\n The Duchess of Sussex also shared news of Wednesday night’s appearance, offering a sneak peek of the clip on her Instagram<\/a> story.
