{"id":612094,"date":"2025-12-04T17:38:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T17:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/612094\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T17:38:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T17:38:13","slug":"united-airlines-flight-diverted-to-edinburgh-as-pilot-declares-emergency-onboard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/612094\/","title":{"rendered":"United Airlines flight diverted to Edinburgh as pilot declares emergency onboard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghlive.co.uk\/all-about\/united-airlines\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:United Airlines;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">United Airlines<\/a> flight from London to San Francisco has been forced to divert to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghlive.co.uk\/all-about\/edinburgh-airport\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Edinburgh Airport;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Edinburgh Airport<\/a> after the pilot declared an onboard emergency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The flight landed in the Scottish capital at around 4.40pm on Thursday December 4 after a 7700 squawk was issued &#8211; signalling a general emergency onboard the aircraft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Taking off from London at 2.05pm, the flight travelled north and was set to cross the North Atlantic Ocean before it turned back and headed towards Edinburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Unconfirmed reports suggest the plane was met with emergency services as it touched down in the capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to FlightRadar24, the plane was due to land in San Francisco at 5pm on Friday December 5 however it is not known when the flight is scheduled to land in America following the diversion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The exact nature of the emergency is not yet known.
