\n The Reform UK leader, in a video on social media, claimed one in three schoolchildren in Glasgow do not speak English as their first language.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThis is not diversity, as the left always preach, this actually is the cultural smashing of Glasgow,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s turning it into a completely different city in every way. My question is, who voted for this? Who told anybody in Scotland this was actually happening?\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Speaking with journalists at a community centre in Glasgow, the Prime Minister said Farage is a \u201ctoxic, divisive disgrace\u201d.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cAll he wants to do is tear communities apart in Glasgow. The diversity, the compassion is celebrated \u2013 it\u2019s part of not just Glasgow but Scotland.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n He added: \u201cI don\u2019t go around picking and choosing and trying to divide. I think it\u2019s particularly poor that he\u2019s reached right into children now to start that divide.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n Scottish Labour<\/a> leader Anas Sarwar<\/a> also hit out at Farage, adding: \u201cHow dare he use Glasgow\u2019s kids to spread his own poison.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n First Minister John Swinney<\/a>, earlier on Thursday, said the comments demonstrated that Farage is \u201ca purveyor of racist views\u201d.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\n He said: \u201cI think Nigel Farage<\/a>\u2019s comments are just quite simply racist. That\u2019s what they are. There\u2019s no other way to describe it.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI don\u2019t know quite when we believed that multilingualism was something of a problem in our society, and certainly not the view I take. I think it\u2019s a benefit. I think it reflects the diversity of our country.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI think what these comments from Nigel Farage demonstrate is that he is a purveyor of racist views and people should think about that long and hard before they think about voting for his party.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
