Moving is never easy, even for royals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this fall, Princess Kate and Prince William packed up their things and their three kids<\/a>\u2014Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7\u2014and moved into their new residence at Forest Lodge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since 2022, the family has been living at Adelaide Cottage, which lies a few miles down the road from their new home. However, reports<\/a> stated that the Waleses were looking \u201cto test a new location\u201d and \u201csee if it worked for them as a family,\u201d with Forest Lodge considered to be their \u201cforever home.\u201d Kate and Wills are even hoping to stay there once William eventually becomes king.<\/p>\n

Still, while early glimpses<\/a> of the abode made it seem like it was well-polished and already furnished, it turns out the move wasn\u2019t as easy as it seemed.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke B\u00fcdenbender for a state visit, where William made an off-hand comment about the difficulties faced by the family during their recent move.<\/p>\n

In a report from People<\/a>, a lip reader examined the initial meeting between the Wales couple and their guests, where first lady B\u00fcdenbender was seemingly seen saying: \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to hear you have moved into a new home together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allegedly, William replied to her statement by noting: \u201cThe house move has been rather challenging with elements of twists, but we\u2019re tackling it.\u201d On a more positive note, Kate told the dignitary: \u201cWe are putting together some mood boards for the room, and we will start after Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sprawling Georgian mansion\u2014which features eight rooms, a ballroom, a tennis court, and more\u2014is nearly double the size of the family\u2019s previous space, meaning Kate will have plenty of material to work with.
