after champion diver switches to Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">The Ukrainian Diving Federation wants diver Sofiia Lyskun to be stripped of all awards after the European champion switched her international allegiance to Russia.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lyskun, 23, who won the 10m synchro title at last year&#8217;s European Aquatics Championships, chose to change her citizenship earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The federation said Lyskun did not inform it, the coaching staff or Ukraine&#8217;s ministry of youth and sports of her intention, and &#8220;expresses deep indignation and strongly condemns&#8221; her actions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uadiving.org\/oficzijna-zayava-federacziyi-ukrayiny-zi-strybkiv-u-vodu\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawOeWV9leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFOTm44eVl0ZkVsZXhyWWZGc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHjI1qg_ZEzhPbASP2qI0lBzgYfVjiEK3smHAmtc2G1HhDELizUky0lPqOtd-_aem_9GPHhtcjrRnPbsIOooNNdw\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In a statement,, external<\/a> the federation said: &#8220;Such steps are categorically unacceptable, as they discredit not only an individual athlete, but also the entire Ukrainian team, which selflessly fights every day for the right to represent our country on the international stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lyskun <a href=\"https:\/\/iz.ru\/1998322\/2025-12-02\/chempionka-mira-lyskun-priniala-rossiiskoe-grazhdanstvo\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told Russian newspaper Izvestia, external<\/a> that over recent years she realised she was no longer &#8220;growing&#8221;
