Family time is as good as it gets.<\/p>\n

Jack Nicholson<\/strong><\/a> was all smiles as he appeared in a rare picture with his kids Lorraine Nicholson<\/strong>, 35, and Ray Nicholson<\/strong>, 33, while they spent time together last month.<\/p>\n

In the snap shared to Lorraine\u2019s Instagram Dec. 4, the 88-year-old leaned in to pose with his daughter, who had her arms wrapped around him and Ray, putting their likeness on display while relaxing at home.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not the only family time the Nicholson brood has gotten in as of late. Other pics from the roundup\u2014aptly captioned, \u201ca november to remember\u201d\u2014featured Lorraine and boyfriend Jason Reitman<\/strong> attending the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences\u2019 Governors Awards on Nov. 16, as well as time together with Jack\u2019s eldest child Jennifer Nicholson<\/strong>, 62.<\/p>\n

While the three-time Oscar winner\u2014also dad to Caleb Goddard<\/strong>, 55, Honey Hollman<\/strong>, 43, and Tessa Gourin<\/strong>, 31\u2014has mostly kept out of the spotlight in recent years, save for a few courtside outings at Los Angeles Lakers games<\/a>, he made a rare public appearance<\/a> during Saturday Night Live<\/a>\u2019s 50th anniversary special in February. <\/p>\n

During the live broadcast, Jack introduced SNL alum Adam Sandler<\/strong>, who performed a song about the show\u2019s history after shouting out the legendary actor. \u201cLet\u2019s hear it for Jack, baby!” Adam said. “Jack baby, out tonight!”<\/p>\n

In January, the Shining actor appeared in another photo<\/a> on Lorraine\u2019s Instagram, leaning in for a hug with his daughter at home. And their sweet bond has been an important source of inspiration for the Soul Surfer actress throughout her career. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s my mentor,\u201d Lorraine told Us Weekly<\/a> in 2011. \u201cI\u2019m going into the family business because we\u2019re so close and he\u2019s such an inspiration. I admire him so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the family business has been built upon some generational advice, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandma always told my father, ‘Don\u2019t toot your own horn,\u2019” Lorraine continued, “which in Nicholson speak means, \u2018Be modest and let your work speak for yourself.’ That\u2019s sort of what I applied to not only my acting work, but my everyday work.”<\/p>\n
