{"id":613107,"date":"2025-12-05T04:46:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T04:46:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/613107\/"},"modified":"2025-12-05T04:46:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T04:46:17","slug":"1000-new-homes-and-jobs-set-for-one-part-of-merseyside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/613107\/","title":{"rendered":"1000 new homes and jobs set for one part of Merseyside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New affordable housing projects are planned for several areas across Sefton, including Bootle, Seaforth and Southport<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/591750959_1378771120926290_2484775261300136868_n.jpg\" alt=\"Example of new housing scheme\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Example of new housing scheme(Image: Sovini)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">One thousand new homes are to be built in one part of Merseyside, and will include wider plans to create job and training opportunities for local residents, according to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/sefton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sefton<\/a> Council<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">At a meeting this morning at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/bootle\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bootle<\/a> Town Hall (December 4), the council\u2019s cabinet members approved a report on the future of Sandway Homes and evaluate its performance. Councillors were told <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/no-more-housing-planned-councils-32967920\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">no more housing projects<\/a> are planned for Sefton Council\u2019s flagship housing company, as it nears completion of its latest development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Sandway Homes is the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/sefton-council\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">local authority\u2019s<\/a> housebuilding arm and was founded in 2019. Over the course of six years, the company has delivered a total of 31 affordable homes for rent and low cost home ownership in Sefton.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Sandway\u2019s latest project, at Buckley Hill Lane, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/netherton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Netherton<\/a>, is nearing completion and will deliver a further 63 homes. From early 2026, 18 of these homes will form part of Sefton\u2019s council first housing stock since 2006.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">On Monday (December 1) Sovini announced a partnership with Sefton Council as part the Sefton Home 2030 scheme which has committed to delivering 1,000 new social and affordable homes in the borough by 2030.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The initiative will make use of council-owned land, including former school and community sites, along with The Sovini Group\u2019s development pipeline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">According to Sovini, the first stage of delivery will see approximately 400 homes built across eight sites in Bootle, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/southport\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Southport<\/a>, Netherton, Seaforth and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/formby\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Formby<\/a>. The group also confirmed work is already underway for plans to develop an additional 600 homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Sefton Council\u2019s executive director (Place), Stephen Watson presented the report and a business update from Sandway Homes, he said: \u201cWhile there\u2019s no new sites, or proposed developments at this time by Sandway Homes, the report touches on the wider housing strategy for the council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cThe Sovini partnership that was approved by cabinet in November, which will deliver more than 1000 new homes across the borough by 2030.
