A former Birmingham doctor who has been charged with dozens of alleged sexual assaults against his patients worked at two Midlands hospitals.<\/p>\n
Nathaniel Spencer, 38, who is British, is due in court next month to face 15 counts of sexual assault and 17 counts of assault by penetration.<\/p>\n
He is also charged with nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, and one count of attempting to assault by penetration.<\/p>\n
It follows a complex investigation by Staffordshire Police’s Public Protection Unit into reported offences at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, in Stoke-on-Trent, and Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley.<\/p>\n
He previously worked at the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust between August 2017 and August 2020 as a resident doctor (formerly known as junior doctor).<\/p>\n
Spencer then was employed as a resident doctor on a placement at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust from August 2020 to April 2021.<\/p>\n

Spencer has been suspended from medical practice in the UK pending the outcome of the investigation.<\/p>\n
