The European Short Course Swimming Championships continued with the Day 4 finals from Lublin, Poland.<\/p>\n

The session will include finals of the women\u2019s and men\u2019s 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly and the women\u2019s 800 free.<\/p>\n

Semifinal events will be the women\u2019s and men\u2019s 200 IM and 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n

Here is a look at what happened in the Day 4 finals:<\/p>\n

European Championships Women\u2019s 100 Backstroke<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Lauren Cox<\/strong> was fifth at the hallway point, but surged to the win in the 100 backstroke. She got to the wall in 56.51, just a hundredth of a second ahead of Maaike De Waard<\/strong> of the Netherlands, who finished in 56.62.<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s Nina Holt<\/strong> took the bronze in 56.72, followed by France\u2019s Pauline Mahieu<\/strong> (56.92), Spain\u2019s Carmen Weiler Sastr<\/strong>e (57.00), Sweden\u2019s Hanna Rosvall<\/strong> (57.06), Denmark\u2019s Victoria Bierre<\/strong> (57.79) and Portugal\u2019s Camila Rodrigues Rebelo<\/strong> (58.10).<\/p>\n

European Championships Men\u2019s 100 Backstroke<\/p>\n

Italy\u2019s Thomas Cecco<\/strong>n was tied with France\u2019s Mewen Tomac<\/strong> at the final turn and surged to the title in the 100 backstroke, finish in in 49.29.<\/p>\n

Tomac was just behind in 49.68, followed by Great Britain\u2019s Oliver Morgan<\/strong> (49.68).<\/p>\n

Czech Republic\u2019s Miroslav Knedla<\/strong> took fourth in 49.93, followed by Italy\u2019s Lorenzo Mora<\/strong> (49.95), Romania\u2019s Denis-Laurean Popescu<\/strong> (49.97), Ireland\u2019s John Shortt<\/strong> (50.10) and Czech Republic\u2019s Jan Cejka<\/strong> (50.34).<\/p>\n

European Championships Women\u2019s 200 Breaststroke<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s Anna Elendt<\/strong> led start to finish to win the 200 breaststroke in 2:18.16.<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Angharad Evans<\/strong> took the silver in 2:18.90, ahead of Lithuania\u2019s Kotryna Teterevkova<\/strong> (2:19.30).<\/p>\n

Czech Republic\u2019s Kristyna Horska<\/strong> finished fourth in 2:19.44, followed by Ireland\u2019s Ellie McCartney<\/strong> (2:19.90), Romania\u2019s Daria Asaftei<\/strong> (2:20.62) , Denmark\u2019s Clara Rybak-Andersen<\/strong> (2:20.62) and Belgium\u2019s Roos VanOtterdijk<\/strong> (2:21.05).<\/p>\n

European Championships Men\u2019s 200 Breaststroke<\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s Carles Coll Marti<\/strong> led from start to finish to claim the men\u2019s 200 breast in 2:00;.86.<\/p>\n

Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> of the Netherlands took the silver in 2:01.27, followed by Austria\u2019s Luka Mladenovic<\/strong> (2:02.48).<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Filip Nowacki<\/strong> finished fourth in 2:02.96, followed by Romania\u2019s Darius-Stefan Coman<\/strong> (2:03.17), Germany\u2019s Jeremias Pock<\/strong> (2:04.52), Italy\u2019s Gabriele Mancini<\/strong> (2:05.84) and Arno Kamminga<\/strong> (2:05.93) of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

European Championships Women\u2019s 800 Freestyle<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s Isabel Gose<\/strong> made her move early and was able to hold off Italy\u2019s Simona Quaderalla<\/strong> and win the 800 free.<\/p>\n

Gose got to the wall in 8:01.90, just ahead of Quaderella (8:03.00). They were 1-2 for nearly the entire race.<\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s Maya Werner<\/strong> finished third in (8:14.41), followed by Hungary\u2019s Ajna Kesely<\/strong> (8:16.77), Spain\u2019s Maria de Valdes Alvares<\/strong> (8:21.44), Greece\u2019s Artemis Vasilaki (8:24.53) and Spain\u2019s Angela<\/strong> Martinez Guillen<\/strong> (8:27.00).<\/p>\n

European Championships Women\u2019s 100 Butterfly<\/p>\n

Denmark\u2019s Martine Damborg<\/strong> claimed the title in the 100 fly, going a 55.52 to finish just three hundredths of a second ahead of Tessa Giele<\/strong> (55.55) of the Netherlands. It was a European Junior record.<\/p>\n

The bronze went to Sweden\u2019s Louise Hansson<\/strong> (55.69), followed by Greece\u2019s Anna Ntountounaki<\/strong> (55.74), Belgium\u2019s Roos VanOtterdijk<\/strong> (55.79), Germany\u2019s Angelina Kohler<\/strong> (55.83), Finland\u2019s Laura Lahtinen<\/strong> (55.97) and Hungary\u2019s Panna Ugrai<\/strong> (57.28).<\/p>\n

European Championships Men\u2019s 100 Butterfly<\/p>\n

France\u2019s Maxime Grousset<\/strong> won the men\u2019s event in 48.19. He led after the 50, fell behind at the 75 but surged to the wall just ahead of Switzerland\u2019s Noe Ponti<\/strong> (48.11).<\/p>\n

Italy\u2019s Michele Busa<\/strong> was third (49.21) followed by compatriot Simone Stefani<\/strong> (49.35).<\/p>\n

Poland took the next two spots with Michal Chmielewski<\/strong> (49.46) and Ksawery Masiuk<\/strong> (49.57), followed by Austria\u2019s Simon Bucher<\/strong> (49.68) and France\u2019s Clement Secchi<\/strong> (50.12).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 IM Semifinals<\/p>\n

Great Britain took the top two spots heading into finals in the women\u2019s 200 IM with Freya Colbert<\/strong> (2:06.42) and Katie Shanahan<\/strong> (2:06.57) swimming the top two times in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Ireland\u2019s Ellen Walshe<\/strong> (2:06.63), Netherlands\u2019 Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> (2:06.85), Israel\u2019s Anastasia<\/strong> Gorbenko<\/strong> (2:06.85), Slovakia\u2019s Tamara Potocka<\/strong> (2:07.24), Italy\u2019s Anita Gastaldi<\/strong> (2:07.72) ) and Spain\u2019s Emma Carrasco Cadens<\/strong> (2:07.99) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 IM Semifinals<\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s Hugo Gonzalez<\/strong> claimed the top seed in the men\u2019s event with a semifinals swim of 1:52.68.<\/p>\n

Turkey\u2019s Berke Saka<\/strong> grabbed the second spot (1:53.16), followed by Great Britain\u2019s Duncan Scott<\/strong> (1:53.22).<\/p>\n

Italy\u2019s Alberto Razzetti<\/strong> (1:53.48), Frances\u2019 Mewen Tomac<\/strong> (1:53.83), Great Britain\u2019s Max Litchfield<\/strong> (1:54.37), Finland\u2019s Ronny Brannkarr<\/strong> (1:54.55) and Hungary\u2019s Gabor Zombori<\/strong> (1:52.72) rounded out the top eight finalists.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Free Semifinals<\/p>\n

Italy\u2019s Sara Curtis<\/strong> took the top spot in the 100 free finals after she got to the wall in 51.29 in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Eva Okaro<\/strong> grabbed the second seed in 51.48, followed by Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> (51.56), France\u2019s Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong> (51.57), Hungary\u2019s Minna Abraham (52.08), Czech Republic\u2019s\u00a0Barbora Janickova<\/strong> (52.14), Netherlands\u2019 Milou Van Wijk<\/strong> (52.16) and Germany\u2019s Nina<\/strong> Holt<\/strong> (52.56).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Free Semifinals<\/p>\n

France\u2019s Maxime Grousset<\/strong> swam the second race of his double and took the top seed in the 100 freestyle, getting to the wall in 45.65.<\/p>\n

Croatia\u2019s Jere Hribar<\/strong> took the second spot in 45.76, followed by Italy\u2019s Carlos D\u2019Ambrosio<\/strong> (46.01), Spain\u2019s Luca Hoek le Guenedal<\/strong> (46.04), Lithuania\u2019s Thomas Lukminas<\/strong> (46.12), Spain\u2019s Sergio De Celis Montalban<\/strong> (46.19) and Hungary\u2019s Adam Jaszo<\/strong> (46.20).<\/p>\n

Hungary\u2019s Nandor Nemeth<\/strong> and Great Britain\u2019s \u2018s Matthew Richards<\/strong> tied for eighth at 46.23.<\/p>\n
