Celtic fans have been used to a few farcical scenes this season, as the actions of the board and the recent AGM have showcased. <\/strong><\/p>\n

But perhaps nothing will top the quite comical 2026 World Cup draw, which took place on Friday night in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

Scotland waited nearly three decades<\/a> to reach football\u2019s biggest stage, and it took around that time just to get the draw going, with idiotic act after idiotic act delaying proceedings. <\/p>\n

Nothing topped the embarrassing scenes of Donald Trump being awarded FIFA\u2019s made-up \u2018peace prize\u2019, but when everything finally got underway, Scotland found out their opponents for the 2026 World Cup<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Would it be the right decision for Callum McGregor to return to the Scotland squad for next summer\u2019s World Cup? <\/p>\n

Ryan Christie on Scotland\u2019s 2026 World Cup draw<\/p>\n

It\u2019s D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu for the Tartan Army, because it\u2019s 1998 all over again! Just like Scotland\u2019s last trip to the World Cup, they will face Brazil, Morocco, and this time, minnows Haiti in Group C of the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n

BBC Sport Scotland invited Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Christie<\/a> to discuss the draw, and some eagle-eyed Celtic<\/a> fans spotted some of his old jerseys in the background. <\/p>\n

It has been four years since Christie left Celtic<\/a>, but it\u2019s great to see the Treble-winner still repping Scotland\u2019s most successful club<\/a> after all these years. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing game,\u201d said Christie on the Brazil tie. \u201cI think I have jinxed this a little bit. I have been telling everybody. I have been saying, \u2018Brazil\u2019 the whole week, and then they came out. I thought, \u2018maybe I shouldn\u2019t be saying that.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be a tough team. Brazil was one of my favourite international teams growing up. It\u2019s amazing. Hopefully, we will get the chance, myself, to play them next summer.\u201d <\/p>\n

Celtic hero Scott Brown on Scotland at the World Cup<\/p>\n

Many great Scottish players missed out, not just on playing at the World Cup, but playing at a major tournament full stop before Steve Clarke came along.<\/p>\n

One of them included Celtic hero Scott Brown<\/a>, and he broke down Scotland\u2019s World Cup group, including where the points are coming from. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to look to beat Haiti; it will be a huge game for us,\u201d stated Brown. <\/p>\n

\u201cMorocco, we\u2019ll be underdogs from looking at the world rankings. It\u2019s a hard game.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrazil is the big one. Everyone will want to be at that Scotland v Brazil game. Seeing that yellow shirt, they\u2019ve got top-quality players. As do Morocco.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to beat Haiti and try to pick up points somewhere else. There is hope for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
