Alexander Isak has finally answered a question on the impact of missing Newcastle United<\/a> pre-season tour before quitting the Magpies for Liverpool.<\/p>\n

The Sweden international’s actions were described as “going on strike” by Eddie Howe<\/a>, but in subsequent interviews Isak had not refeerred to the summer period when he refused to link up with Newcastle for their trip to the Far East.<\/p>\n

Isak then managed to irk Howe even more by training alone in Spain while his team-mates prepared for the 2025\/26 season.<\/p>\n

But when pushed about the impact of missing pre-season by Sky Sports reporter Pat Davison, Isak responded: “It is difficult to say. Of course as a footballer you want to be in that flow and play in every game. And train every training session.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n

“But it is not a new thing, we get injured sometimes. And we miss games and training, it is nothing new. I am just trying to get back to my best.”<\/p>\n

Isak scored his first Liverpool goal last weekend in the win over West Ham but then drew another blank against Sunderland<\/a> in midweek.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his final days at Newcastle, Isak, speaking to Sky Sports, added: “I don’t really reflect on it that much. It is in the past, my focus is here. It is best to just stay in the moment.”<\/p>\n

He also vowed to bring much better form to the table for Liverpool after his \u00a3130m. Isak said: “I expect to do much more, of course.<\/p>\n

“I always do that; even when I do really well, I want more. So that\u2019s not a problem for me. I\u2019m just trying to stay positive, trying to work to do better. That\u2019s what I\u2019m looking to do.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, I\u2019m the first one to know, and I know best, when I\u2019m doing good and when I\u2019m not doing good. I don\u2019t need anyone to tell me how I\u2019m doing. That\u2019s not a problem for me.”<\/p>\n
