We expect the EU to engage in fair, open, &amp; reciprocal trade \u2014 &amp; nothing less.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The move adds another layer of tension to the EU\u2019s strained relationship with the Trump administration, with the U.S. president threatening to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/09\/05\/trump-threatens-more-tariffs-after-eu-fines-google-00547922\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impose additional tariffs<\/a>\u00a0on the bloc if it continues to penalize American tech giants.
