Sky News<\/a> brought its morning show to a halt as it issued a breaking news announcement about Piers Morgan<\/a>. Broadcaster Anna Jones and Kamali Melbourne opened the show on Saturday (December 6), announcing that the former Good Morning Britain<\/a> presenter is taking his Uncensored channel global.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

She began: \u201cA little bit of breaking news for you now, broadcaster and journalist Piers Morgan<\/a> is raising tens of millions of dollars of funding to turn his Uncensored brand into a broad-based media business.\u201d Later in the show, they welcomed media correspondent Mark Kleinman to discuss the presenter\u2019s plans for the company.<\/p>\n

He explained: \u201cSome interesting news about the former Mirror editor and CNN anchor Piers Morgan this morning. His main journalistic focus these days is, of course, the Piers Morgan Uncensored YouTube channel, which has amassed well over four million subscribers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that he\u2019s in the process of finalising the fundraising of about $30m, that is about \u00a322.5million, to expand the uncensored brand globally. Now this deal will value the business at just under \u00a3100m before the new money is factored in.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The presenter went on to add the various areas in which Morgan plans to expand his Uncensored channel, which is soon to include coverage of sport, technology, and history.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kleinman went on: \u201cWe will see it launch new areas of coverage, such as in history, technology, and sport. Morgan is raising these new funds with a group of prominent media investors, and this comes at a significant time of upheaval in the global media industry.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The presenter added that these new changes to Uncensored show a lot of promise in the up-and-coming talent in broadcast journalism, which will no doubt shape the future of journalism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The media correspondent concluded: \u201cWhat this expansion of the Uncensored business reflects is his belief that traditional news and media sectors are ripe for being disrupted by channels tied to prominent individuals and journalists and presenters, like himself.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following the news, Morgan later released a statement about the changes, sharing his excitement for 2026. He gushed: \u201cI\u2019m\u00a0very excited\u00a0that the most experienced and successful players in the global media industry share my ambitious vision for Uncensored. This is the future of modern media.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

It didn’t take long before his loyal fanbase flocked to social media to share their excitement online. One user penned: “Biggest interviews in the world, makes sense! [fire emoji]”, as another agreed: “Congratulations! The GMB incident was a blessing in disguise.
