Spanish police are probing the death of a young Liverpool fan<\/a> killed in a \u201cdeliberate\u201d hit-and-run while cycling in Tenerife. The victim, a British youngster identified so far only by his first name Harry, was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident on Monday evening.<\/p>\n The alarm was raised at around 8pm in the municipality of Arona in the south of the holiday island<\/a>. The victim<\/a> was cycling on the TF-652 road between Las Chafiras and the fishing village of Las Galletas.<\/p>\n Local reports today described it as a \u201chit-and-run<\/a>\u201d and island newspaper El Dia said the Civil Guard was investigating whether the ‘British’ man had been \u201cmurdered<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n It said: \u201cAfter initial inquiries officers reached the early conclusion that he wasn\u2019t run over by accident.\u201d<\/p>\n Local police employed by Arona Town Hall handled the initial inquiries but have now handed the case over to Civil Guard investigators who could not be reached early this morning for comment.<\/p>\n No arrests are believed to have taken place so far. A makeshift shrine with flowers, candles and a photo of the dead man, whose age and full name have not yet been made public, was set up near to the spot where he died.<\/p>\n The man is thought to have lived in Tenerife although officials have not yet confirmed this.
