Prince William was filmed bumping his head into a tree as Princess Kate walked off unaware.<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales are currently on a two-day visit to the Scottish Isles of Mull and Iona, where they are known by their Scottish titles, the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay.<\/p>\n

The royal couple embarked on their journey on April 29 to celebrate and connect with rural island communities.<\/p>\n

The trip was announced by Kensington Palace, which referred to the couple by their Scottish styling rather than their more commonly used titles.<\/p>\n

The visit to the Inner Hebrides, a chain of islands off Scotland’s west coast, sees the couple engaging with local communities and participating in various activities.<\/p>\n

During their visit, Prince William had a minor mishap at Croft 3, their second engagement of the day.<\/p>\n

The Prince bumped his head into a tree branch before the couple were due to view lambs.<\/p>\n

After the collision, William turned around to look back at the tree that had caught him unawares.<\/p>\n

Kate, walking ahead, did not notice her husband’s encounter with the branch.<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay continued with their planned activities without further incident.<\/p>\n

The couple proceeded to watch the lambs as scheduled, with William appearing unfazed by the brief encounter with the Scottish foliage.<\/p>\n

While in Scotland, the couple are known by their traditional Scottish titles rather than their more familiar designations.<\/p>\n

This makes Kate the Duchess of Rothesay during their Scottish visits.<\/p>\n

The royal couple’s titles change further when in the Inner Hebrides, where they become the Lord and Lady of the Isles.<\/p>\n

This particular title traces back to medieval times and came under the control of the crown through King James IV of Scotland in 1493.<\/p>\n

Since then, the Lord of the Isles title has typically been held by the heir to the Scottish throne.<\/p>\n

These Scottish titles became part of the British royal family’s heritage when Scotland and England united to form the United Kingdom through the Act of Union of 1707.<\/p>\n

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022, King Charles used his first speech as sovereign to confer his Scottish titles onto William.<\/p>\n

“As my heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me,” the King said in his first address to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
