Desperate Housewives<\/a> is getting a new spin-off with a big-name star attached.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a> has reported that development has begun on a ‘reimagining’ of the iconic 2000s comedy drama, titled Wisteria Lane.<\/p>\n

The publication states that the show is being worked on at Disney<\/a>‘s Onyx Collective and 20th Television brands, with Kerry Washington<\/a>‘s production company Simpson Street on board too.<\/p>\n

However, it is not sure whether Washington will actually appear in the show itself.<\/p>\n

This new version will follow a similar premise to the original, with five friends who all kind of hate each living on the same street, although now they are trying to present their lives and homes as perfect online as well as in real life now.<\/p>\n

Of course, they’ve all got plenty of dark secrets, which means that when they inevitably get revealed, they’re at risk of being aired on social media rather than just at the neighbourhood barbecue.<\/p>\n

The show’s original creator Marc Cherry is not currently involved with this project, but apparently there is some scope for him to hop on board in some capacity. <\/p>\n

There’s also no word on whether any original cast members could feature, but people like Teri Hatcher<\/a> and Eva Longoria<\/a> have said that they’d be up for it.<\/p>\n

Wisteria Lane is being written by Natalie Chaidez, who was previously the showrunner of The Flight Attendant<\/a> and a writer on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Heroes, to name a few.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All eight seasons of the original Desperate Housewives are available to stream for Disney+ subscribers.<\/strong><\/p>\n
