It will air on Showtime two days later on July 13.<\/p>\n<p>The news was revealed with a new teaser below, featuring Michael C. Hall reprising his iconic role as vigilante the serial killer, reading an article titled \u201cDexter Morgan Is Dead\u201d with a knowing smile.<\/p>\n<p>Weeks after taking a bullet to the chest from his own son, Dexter Morgan awakens from a coma to find Harrison gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right.<\/p>\n<p>But closure won\u2019t come easy. When Miami Metro\u2019s Angel Batista arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined \u2014 and that the only way out is together.<\/p>\n<p>The revival also sees the return of <strong>David Zayas<\/strong> as Angel Batista, <strong>Jack Alcott<\/strong> as Harrison Morgan, <strong>James Remar<\/strong> as Harry Morgan, and <strong>David Magidoff<\/strong> as Teddy Reed, plus cameos from\u00a0<strong>John Lithgow<\/strong> as The Trinity Killer and <strong>Jimmy Smits<\/strong> as Miguel Prado.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter Dinklage<\/strong> plays the season\u2019s main villain, billionaire venture capitalist Leon Prater, with<strong> Uma Thurman<\/strong> as Charley, a former Special Ops officer who serves as his right-hand woman.<\/p>\n<p>Newcomers <strong>Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusaand<\/strong>, and <strong>Emilia Su\u00e1rez<\/strong> will be joined by guest stars <strong>Krysten Ritter<\/strong>, <strong>Neil Patrick Harris<\/strong>, <strong>Eric Stonestreet,<\/strong> <strong>David Dastmalchian<\/strong>, <strong>Steve Schirripa<\/strong>, <strong>Marc Menchaca<\/strong>, and <strong>Reese Antoinette<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Original \u201cDexter\u201d showrunner <strong>Clyde Phillips<\/strong> returns while fellow \u201cDexter\u201d alumnus <strong>Marcos Siega<\/strong> serves as producing director. He\u2019ll helm four episodes, with <strong>Monica Raymund<\/strong> (\u201cDexter: Original Sin\u201d) directing the other four.<\/p>\n<p>Based on <strong>Jeff Lindsay<\/strong>\u2019s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, \u201cDexter\u201d ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013.
