A man aged in his 70s was rescued from a stretch of water at a reservoir beauty spot on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to the scene at Jumbles Country Park, north of Bolton<\/a>, at around 9.30am.<\/p>\n It’s understood an air ambulance was also alerted to the emergency, with reports suggesting a large emergency services response at the scene.<\/p>\n The man was subsequently taken to hospital, where it’s understood his condition is now stable.<\/p>\n It’s understood reports to police were made after concerns for the man’s welfare.<\/p>\n The reservoir, a popular walking site, is close to the border with Lancashire, near Turton Tower in the Valley of Bradshaw Brook.<\/p>\n In a statement issued on Sunday, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said officers were called to reports of a man in a stretch of water<\/p>\n In a statement, GMP said: “Officers were called to reports of a man in the water at Jumbles Reservoir, Bolton, at around 9.30am today – Sunday December 7.<\/p>\n “He has since been taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”<\/p>\n No further information has been provided.<\/p>\n For the latest stories and breaking news visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk<\/a>.
