(WYMT) &#8211; A Laurel County man is facing several charges following an attempted traffic stop Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A trooper initiated a traffic stop after seeing a white Ford Ranger cut off another vehicle while on KY 229 in Knox County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say the driver refused to stop before turning onto Horse Hollow Road, a dead-end road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The man fled into the woods and was later found by a trooper near a creek bank, where he was arrested.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alex Smallwood, 46, of London, is facing the following charges:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"list | article-list\">\n<li>Fleeing or Evading Police 1st (Motor Vehicle)<\/li>\n<li>Fleeing or Evading Police 1st (On Foot)<\/li>\n<li>Criminal Mischief 2nd<\/li>\n<li>Improper Passing<\/li>\n<li>Speeding 15 MPH over the limit<\/li>\n<li>Wanton Endangerment 2nd (Police Officer)<\/li>\n<li>Driving on a DUI Suspended License 1st.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Smallwood is being held in the Knox County Detention Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WYMT.
