75-84 year-olds (21.4); and children aged four and under (21.2).

Who is eligible for a flu jab?

Anyone can get a flu vaccine in a pharmacy, however it is only available free of charge to certain at-risk groups.

In Boots, for example, it costs £21.95 to to pay for one if you don’t fall under any of the groups below.

The NHS will fund free flu jabs for everyone aged 65 and over; for those under 65 in clinical risk groups; care home residents and carers; pregnant women; close contacts of those who are immunosuppressed; frontline health and social care workers; and children.

Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.

For more stories like this, check our news page.

Arrow
MORE: More than 100 passengers struck down with grim ‘vomiting bug’ on 133-day world cruise

Arrow
MORE: Lung test reveals how healthy you are as you age

Arrow
MORE: Testing shows scale of cancer-linked pesticides on these 12 fruits and veg

Comment now

   Comments

Add Metro as a Preferred Source on Google

    Add as preferred source

    News Updates

Stay on top of the headlines with daily email updates.

Hospitals are bracing for a difficult few weeks, with strikes as well as the wave of infection (Picture:…

[11
105,725,12,211,16,15
0":"post-619557","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-health","8":"tag-health","9":"tag-health-news","10":"tag-news","11":"tag-nhs","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
