\n Basingstoke Golf Club has appointed Jake Field to the role as it prepares to open a redesigned course in the spring.\n<\/p>\n
\n Mr Field joins the club in February from Edgbaston Golf Club in Birmingham, where he spent five years overseeing course improvements and earning praise for its layout and condition.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said: “It will be very emotional for me to leave Edgbaston after five unforgettable years but the opportunity at Basingstoke Golf Club is something that fills me with real excitement.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The club has entered a new chapter with its impressive downland course and facilities and to help guide its next phase is a privilege.\n<\/p>\n
\n “My family and I are looking forward to relocating and becoming part of the community.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I\u2019m incredibly grateful to Basingstoke for giving me this opportunity and I can\u2019t wait to get started.”\n<\/p>\n
\n In addition to his UK experience, Mr Field has held senior greenkeeping roles abroad, including at PGA National Sweden and Harbour Town Links in South Carolina, a regular stop on the PGA Tour.\n<\/p>\n

\n Basingstoke Golf Club relocated to Dummer in 2021 and has since undergone a \u00a320m redevelopment.\n<\/p>\n
\n This includes a new 18-hole championship downland course designed by Weller Designs, a modern clubhouse and ongoing investment in practice facilities.\n<\/p>\n
\n David Green, general manager of Basingstoke Golf Club, said: “We\u2019re delighted to welcome Jake to Basingstoke.\n<\/p>\n
\n “His achievements at Edgbaston speak for themselves, but it was his drive, technical expertise and clear passion for agronomy that really stood out and made him the outstanding candidate.\n<\/p>\n
\n “This is an important appointment for the club as we continue our work transforming the course and facilities, and Jake is the right person to lead that work.\n<\/p>\n
