{"id":62038,"date":"2025-04-30T04:47:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T04:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62038\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T04:47:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T04:47:10","slug":"bristol-pub-to-hold-huge-street-party-this-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62038\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol pub to hold huge street party this Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The idea emerged from the pandemic and this year&#8217;s will be bigger and better than ever before<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_TCBR120624StreetPartyBRI_05jpeg.jpg\" alt=\"A street party is held every year in Kingston Road, Southville, outside the Coronation pub\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>A street party is held every year in Kingston Road, Southville, outside the Coronation pub(Image: Coronation pub, Southville)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The landlord of a pub which hosts a party so big they need to shut down the street for the day is promising this year\u2019s event will have a new and bigger line up than before.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It will be the fourth year running that the Coronation pub in Southville will host the Kingston Road Street Party &#8211; an event which was born from the Covid pandemic restrictions but has since grown into one of the biggest community events of its kind in Bristol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The event will see the east end of Kingston Road closed from late morning this Saturday, May 3, with the party going right through from 12 noon to 11pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The early afternoon is more of a family friendly event, with music and dance gearing up on the street party stage outside the pub later in the afternoon and into the evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A line-up of new acts has been announced, with the event ending as usual with an hour long silent disco from 10pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Things kick off from noon with two 45-minute family-friendly shows from Adam Richard Magic. From 2pm, the first music act gets involved &#8211; Retro Reveries with a duo playing acoustic originals and covers. At 3pm, local duo Albex will take to the stage, and from 4pm, a local country and rock duo called Double who do a blend of originals and covers spanning Americana, jazz and folk.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1_TCBR120624StreetPartyBRI_04jpeg.jpg\" alt=\"A street party is held every year in Kingston Road, Southville, outside the Coronation pub\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>A street party is held every year in Kingston Road, Southville, outside the Coronation pub &#8211; Batala samba band(Image: Coronation pub, Southville)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Bristol samba band Batala Bristol have done the last three Kingston Road Street Parties and they will perform twice &#8211; first and 5pm and again at 7pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In between, at 6pm, a trio called Basic Pleasure Model will truly get the party started with multi-coloured jumpsuits, 80s pop bangers and inflatable instruments to encourage that extra bit of audience participation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The evening will get underway after Batala\u2019s second set with Big Mambo, a four-piece all-female Bristol band who blend original funk, pop and rock.
