IT\u2019S been five years since Prince Harry ditched royal duties and relocated to California, and relations with his family are said to still be frosty.<\/p>\n

However, according to royal experts, the key to the Duke of Sussex reconciling with his family is his cousin Princess Eugenie.<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking on The Sun\u2019s Royal Exclusive<\/a> show, biographer Hugo Vickers said: \u201cThe great hope for that [reconciliation] is Princess Eugenie, 35.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI think because there was some talk of him going to have a house in Portugal.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is the one who is still able to be in touch with them and she, I suspect, could be the one who could link the children together.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, there could be some tension between Prince Harry<\/a>, 40, and his last remaining royal ally Princess Eugenie<\/a>, who is mum to August, four, and one-year-old Earnest.<\/p>\n

Despite Harry and Meghan buying an investment property<\/a> in Portugal near Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank<\/a>, and holidaying there in 2023<\/a>, the relationship is said to have faltered<\/a> in recent years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is understood the friendship foundered after she was photographed last April with Piers Morgan<\/a> \u2014 a strong critic of Harry and Meghan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A friend said: \u201cA dim view was taken of this, as Piers has clashed with Meghan and Harry in the past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEugenie has been supportive of Harry and Meghan for years and was right there at the beginning of their relationship \u2014 but it has now soured.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Sun\u2019s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson said on the recent show:<\/a> \u201cThey went for a pub lunch and there was a bit of upset in Montecito because obviously Piers Morgan and Meghan have bashed heads in the past and Harry have bashed heads in the past and that they took a dim view of Eugenie going out for a pub.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hugo added: \u201cWell I hope that relationship does survive because I think that’s a really important link\u201d, to which Matt replied: \u201cIt’s the last remaining link.\u201d<\/p>\n

Princess Eugenie holds the key to Harry reconciling with the royals<\/p>\n

Speaking of Prince Harry\u2019s fractious relationship with King Charles<\/a> and Prince William following his damning Spare memoir and Netflix<\/a> documentary<\/a>, the royal biographer said: \u201cWell the King’s left the door wide open for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut then there’s this sort of issue that Prince Harry<\/a> seems to think the royal family<\/a> should be apologising to him whereas it should be the other way around and the King’s got a lot of other things on his mind but he has never responded to anything.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The historian claimed that Prince Harry has got \u201cmuch more hope of reconciliation\u201d with King Charles<\/a> than with Prince William.<\/p>\n

Matt responded: \u201cWell I think the general feeling is that Harry probably needs to apologise – either publicly or privately and then we can move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The royal expert also spoke of how Prince Harry\u2019s family feud<\/a> means that Prince Archie<\/a>, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, are not growing up knowing their British cousins, Prince George<\/a>, 11, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, nine, and Prince Louis<\/a>, seven.<\/p>\n

Hugo said: \u201cThose children are going to resent at some point the fact they’re suddenly going to realise that their first cousin is a future king.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey could have been enjoying life at Windsor and all sorts of things.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren are not stupid. I mean they’re going to realise that at some point and probably want to have some sort of connection.\u201d<\/p>\n

This follows it being revealed that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have a secret \u201cauntie\u201d in California.<\/a><\/p>\n

On the third episode<\/a> of Confessions of Female Founder<\/a>, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, said her two kids refer to one of her friends as \u201cAuntie Kadi\u201d when she arrives.<\/p>\n

On this week\u2019s show, Meghan sat down with \u201cdear friend\u201d and A-list colourist Kadi Lee, co-founder of Highbrow Hippie – which the duchess invested in last year – and said she is a huge hit with the kids.<\/p>\n

Entrepreneur Kadi candidly shared on the podcast: \u201cMaybe I’ll try a stint in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m just a really naturally curious person, and I was not blessed with kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m still holding out hope I might be a step mum or, you know, one day, but for right now, I’m just super aunt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan cut in: \u201cI mean, our kids love Auntie Kadi.\u201d<\/p>\n

Princess Lilibet<\/a> and Prince Archie also call Meghan\u2019s close pal and tennis legend Serena Williams “auntie.”<\/a><\/p>\n

During the podcast Meghan made no reference to the kids\u2019 real auntie, Princess Kate.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Shortly after the birth<\/a>, Kate said: \u201cI can’t wait to meet her. We haven’t met her yet. I hope that will be soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is thought that Archie and Lilibet also have no relationship with women on Meghan\u2019s side who could be aunts, including her half-sister Samantha Markle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A timeline of Prince Harry’s family feud<\/p>\n

IN 2018, the Sun told how\u00a0“simmering tension<\/p>\n

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.<\/p>\n

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.<\/p>\n

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.<\/p>\n

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.<\/p>\n

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially\u00a0split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.<\/p>\n

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before\u00a0Kate<\/a>\u00a0joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.<\/p>\n

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the\u00a0Invictus Games<\/a>\u00a0for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.<\/p>\n

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.<\/p>\n

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to\u00a0Frogmore Cottage<\/a>\u00a0in Windsor before baby\u00a0Archie<\/a>\u00a0was born.<\/p>\n

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.<\/p>\n

Harry also hinted in his\u00a0ITV documentary<\/a>\u00a0“Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their\u00a0bombshell interview with Oprah<\/a>\u00a0Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.<\/p>\n

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn\u2019t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.<\/p>\n

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate\u00a0acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.<\/a><\/p>\n

Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor”<\/a>\u00a0during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.<\/p>\n

In Spare<\/a>, Harry said William branded\u00a0Meghan\u00a0“rude” and “difficult” during a row.<\/p>\n

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and \u2026 knocked me to the floor”.<\/p>\n

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of\u00a0Kensington Palace<\/a>, where he was living at the time.<\/p>\n

In January this year,\u00a0Harry flew in to be with Charles<\/a>\u00a0after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.\u00a0<\/p>\n
