{"id":620944,"date":"2025-12-08T22:42:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T22:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/620944\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T22:42:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T22:42:13","slug":"tottenham-fans-receive-worrying-update-about-antoine-semenyo-plan-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/620944\/","title":{"rendered":"Tottenham fans receive worrying update about Antoine Semenyo plan in January"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>A new report has made a rather surprising claim about Tottenham\u2019s rumoured interest in Antoine Semenyo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has been reported for some time that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-hotspur-shortlist-six-ambitious-statement-signings-to-target-in-2026\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signing a top-class left-winger like Semenyo is Tottenham\u2019s top priority<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it has even been claimed over recent days by some sources that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-intensify-push-for-70m-premier-league-left-winger-ahead-of-january\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spurs have intensified their pursuit of the Bournemouth star<\/a> and that the North London club are willing to pay his \u00a365m release clause.<\/p>\n<p>However, a reputed source has now poured cold water on the reports linking the Ghanaian with a move to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/club-info\/stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tottenham Hotspur Stadium<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GettyImages-2249696868-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Tottenham target Antoine Semenyo\" class=\"wp-image-371121\" \/>Photo by David Horton \u2013 CameraSport via Getty ImagesNo indications that Tottenham will reignite their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo<\/p>\n<p>A new report in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6848284\/2025\/12\/02\/tottenham-hotspur-transfer-latest-january-summer-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Athletic<\/a> has now revealed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/tottenham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spurs<\/a> did show genuine interest in the 25-year-old during the summer window.<\/p>\n<p>However, their enquiry was knocked back by the Cherries, who informed the Lilywhites that they would have to pay \u00a370m for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/tag\/antoine-semenyo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Semenyo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The winger has since signed a new deal at the Vitality Stadium, which contains a release clause of \u00a365m.<\/p>\n<p>However, the report suggests that there are no indications at the moment that Spurs will make a move for Semenyo again in the January window.<\/p>\n<p>Are Spurs admitting defeat in the race for Semenyo?<\/p>\n<p>Given that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/club-info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> need a left-winger, it makes no sense for the Lilywhites not to at least try to land the Bournemouth winger.<\/p>\n<p>However, a number of outlets have claimed over recent weeks that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spurs-web.com\/spurs-news\/tottenham-find-out-their-position-in-the-pecking-order-for-65m-antoine-semenyo-deal\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Man City and Liverpool are leading Spurs in the race for Semenyo\u2019s signature<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It could simply be the case that the North London club reached out to the player but did not get any encouragement, and have thus decided to move on to other targets.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>       Have something to tell us about this article?
