Meghan Markle has been branded a “villain of the year” and a “Montecito diva” by a Los Angeles boutique in a controversial festive display.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex features in a “holiday hypocrites” gallery forming part of a provocative Christmas window at fashionable retailer Kitson. The department store, situated on Robertson Blvd between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood<\/a>, has listed Meghan amongst its 2025 villains alongside California Governor Gavin Newsom, George Clooney<\/a> and Katy Perry.<\/p>\n

The “Holiday hypocrisy” window exhibition has gained notoriety across Los Angeles since its introduction in 2020. Meghan appears on a mock magazine cover sporting a Santa hat emblazoned with the phrase “Montecito diva.”<\/p>\n

Her cover features multiple headlines labelling her and Harry the “most unpopular kids in school” due to being “disliked by Americans.”<\/p>\n

Another headline highlights how Meghan’s As Ever jam is manufactured in a facility 2,000 miles away from her California residence.<\/p>\n

The display also references her wearing \u00a382,000 worth of jewellery during her Netflix<\/a> festive programme, alongside a headline criticising her as hypocritical for refusing to relinquish her Royal title.<\/p>\n

Additional celebrities in the window include singer Katy Perry, whose cover focuses predominantly on her new partner Justin Trudeau. This isn’t the first occasion the retailer has targeted the royals.<\/p>\n

Following Harry and Meghan’s exit from the UK, shoppers were invited to declare their allegiance in the Royal rift by purchasing “Team Harry & Meghan” and “Team William & Kate” t-shirts to support their preferred Royal couple in 2020.<\/p>\n

Kitson proprietor Fraser Ross revealed to the Daily Mail: “It started out with customers asking us if we had anything related to the young royals.<\/p>\n

“They would go on to say why they favoured one couple over the other. There were literally people arguing on the floor with each other about it. I knew it was time to bring back the infamous ‘Team’ shirts.”<\/p>\n

He continued: “We have a large customer base, so it’s a good barometer to see who is more popular at the moment.”<\/p>\n

Back in March, Team Kate & William held the lead.<\/p>\n

Fraser elaborated: “They’re outselling Meghan & Harry two to one.<\/p>\n

“Just like Team Aniston shirts did double the sales of Team Jolie.<\/p>\n

“We got the shirts in shortly before ‘Megxit’ was announced, so it was pretty equal at the beginning. But post-Mexit, it sent the Cambridges surging way ahead of the Sussexes.”<\/p>\n
