Having trained with Coventry City, he then swiftly joined a resurgent Sheffield United under reinstated manager Chris Wilder.

What’s followed has been the perfect impact during a short-term deal running up to January. Making his debut against Liam Cooper’s Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City Derby, he’s since netted twice in red and white, having made two starts and two sub appearances.

Ever since Bamford’s arrival, the Blades are yet to drop a point. They have won four on the spin during his time at Bramall Lane. I’ve got to say, the fact that Wilder was giving a loving embrace to Bamford, and geeing up ‘Wilder is a w*****’ chants at Hillsborough, was such a bizarre sight after what unfolded last season.

Chris Wilder is loving Patrick Bamford’s Sheffield United impact so far. (Action Images/Craig Brough)

Previously rubbing elbows with their stricken city rivals in the bottom three, the Blades are now 18th. But, they are also importantly only eight points off sixth-placed Stoke City. The Potters being the side they just battered 4-0 as Bamford scored on Saturday.

Chris Wilder confirms Sheffield United’s transfer plan for Patrick Bamford ahead of January

I know I don’t speak for every Leeds fan. But, I’ve certainly been intrigued to see how Bamford gets on after being ditched by Leeds in the summer.

I knew he’d have more to offer than being sitting on the fringes of our squad, or just out in the cold as a free agent. Wilder has been the perfect manager to get more out of Bamford again. That’s something the Blades boss has an immense track record of doing across his now three stints in South Yorkshire. For all we don’t particularly like Wilder up here.

Ahead of January and Bamford’s contract coming to an end, Wilder confirmed that Bamford and likewise arrival Jairo Riedewald are already pushing to earn longer-term deals.

“I spoke to both boys, and they want to commit,” Wilder told The Star. “Their representatives will obviously put the options to them, that they’ve got on the table.

“It has to be right from a lot of points from then. But the initial talk, between manager and player, is really positive. The vibe that is coming back, that they’re giving me, is that they would like the opportunity of staying. Then it’s over to other people to hopefully get the deal done.”

It’s so weird, to me, seeing Bamford teaming up with Wilder at Bramall Lane. But, you can clearly see it’s a deal that suits everyone.

He’s got back to his best form in the space of four games. And in the process, he’s boosted Sheffield United’s promotion hopes all of a sudden.

Looking from a Leeds perspective, there’s obviously going to be the question of whether we should have kept him as extra depth. The hindsight being that we’re now playing a two-up-front system that needs more depth than we currently have.

However, it was clear Bamford needed a reset away from Leeds. It’s good to see that he’s back enjoying football again.

Read more: Leeds United willing to pay £21million to sign Euro club star talent.

Leeds United chose to release Patrick Bamford during the summer transfer window, and he was snapped up by…

[8814
748,25764,393,4884,1860,2922,142361,2924,4239,142362,16,15
0":"post-621285","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-leeds","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-elland-road","10":"tag-england","11":"tag-great-britain","12":"tag-leeds","13":"tag-leeds-united","14":"tag-lufc","15":"tag-patrick-bamford","16":"tag-sheffield-united","17":"tag-the-whites","18":"tag-uk","19":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
