In a new interview with Vanity Fair<\/strong>, Lady Gaga<\/strong>\u2019s choreographer Parris Goebel<\/strong> discusses the creative process behind crafting Gaga\u2019s 2025 Coachella<\/strong> performance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Parris calls the collaboration \u201cprobably the most fun I\u2019ve ever had working on a project, and I think that comes down to working with Gaga.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Choosing the Setlist:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe were just like, \u2018how do we make the most iconic opening ever?\u2019 And we started throwing out song names. \u2018What if we open with Abracadabra?\u2019 I said we have to do Schei\u00dfe, because it\u2019s my favorite. \u2018And what if we ended the act with Poker Face? It would be so unexpected.\u2019 I think people were expecting her to open with the new album, but we did this mash-up of new and old hits. I think it was the perfect blend to wake everyone up and say: She\u2019s here! She\u2019s back!\u201d<\/p>\n

On Creating the Opera House:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cGaga and I talk every day, and we\u2019re constantly sharing ideas, photos, and inspiration. It just kind of came to me: What if we do an opera house, like Mayhem Opera House? [\u2026] When I started working with Gaga, I very quickly learned that my wildest dreams and fantasies could transpire with her. I texted her, \u2018Let\u2019s do an opera house.\u2019 And she texted back and said, \u2018I love it. Let\u2019s do it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

On Her Favorite Part of the Putting the Show Together:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with such a free thinker, someone who\u2019s open-minded and takes risks and cares about true artistry. She really puts the time, energy, and money into her art. You can see that. We both managed to lock ourselves away in this little \u2018Mayhem\u2019 world and be kids again. And it was so theatrical. I really thrive in those spaces. I love the drama\u2014how dance, music, and visuals can take you to another world. It\u2019s obviously a lot of hard work, but it\u2019s been a dream.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Revamping Old Choreography:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe cool thing, I\u2019m coming in fresh with someone who already has such a massive legacy and impact on the world. I just want to honor what she\u2019s done, what\u2019s she\u2019s created, and then also put a fresh twist on it. I\u2019m always thinking about her fans. So it was like, What will the fans love to see again in this world, the \u2018Mayhem\u2019 world? Then deciding to give them something new here, switching it up there. It was a beautiful balance of honoring what she\u2019s done and then putting a fresh lens on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On How the Mayhem Ball Will Differ From Coachella:<\/strong><\/p>\n
