\n Scotland\u2019s First Minister unveiled the new Parkhead<\/a> Hub during a visit on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the heart of the East End<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n The \u00a367 million centre brings together a wide range of health, social care, and community services previously spread across nine different locations.\n<\/p>\n

\n John Swinney<\/a> said:\u00a0\u201cOur plan to improve our NHS is\u00a0working – long waits of over 52 weeks have fallen for five consecutive months, the\u00a0number of operations performed are at their highest since January 2020 and GP\u00a0numbers continue to rise.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe know there is more to do to ensure people get the help they need when they need\u00a0it.\n<\/p>\n

\n “That\u2019s we are focused on shifting how care is delivered, moving from acute settings in\u00a0hospitals to community settings like the Parkhead<\/a> Hub.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe Hub, supported by \u00a367 million Scottish Government<\/a> funding, is an excellent\u00a0example of how we are delivering health and social care services in a more convenient\u00a0\u00a0way- with general practice, community pharmacy, mental health services and\u00a0homelessness support in one place.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Developed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde<\/a> (NHSGGC) in partnership with Glasgow City Health<\/a> and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Glasgow City Council<\/a>, and Glasgow Life, the facility has been recognised for its design and impact since opening in January 2025.\n<\/p>\n

\n It has received several national awards, including Public Sector Project of the Year (UK) at the RICS Awards 2025.\n<\/p>\n

\n The hub also earned Project of the Year \u2013 New Build (UK) at the Design in Mental Health<\/a> Awards 2025.\n<\/p>\n

\n It also won Best Healthcare Project, Best Sustainability Project, and the Supreme Award at the Glasgow Institute of Architects Awards.\n<\/p>\n

\n Additional honours include the Building Better Healthcare Awards Gold Award for Patient\u2019s Choice and Silver Awards for Best External Environment<\/a>\/Landscaping and Best Healthcare Development (\u00a325\u2013\u00a375m).\n<\/p>\n

\n The First Minister continued: \u201cThis kind of whole family support \u2013 bringing together all the services people need under\u00a0one roof \u2013 will be key in ensuring that people get the care and support they need from\u00a0the NHS in their local community.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n The Parkhead Hub houses GP practices, community pharmacy and dental services, children\u2019s care, adult and older people\u2019s social care, mental health and addiction support, homelessness and justice services, sexual health, and health-improvement teams.\n<\/p>\n

\n It also offers a relocated library, caf\u00e9, flexible meeting rooms, training spaces, and facilities for third-sector organisations.\n<\/p>\n

\n Its main conference room has been named in memory of the late John Ferguson, a community campaigner.\n<\/p>\n

\n The hub is also the NHS board\u2019s first net-zero-in-operation facility, setting a new benchmark for sustainable healthcare delivery.\n<\/p>\n

\n Dr Lesley Thomson KC, chair of NHSGGC, said: “Parkhead Hub marks a step-change in how we deliver health and social care, bringing services together to better support communities and reflecting our Transforming Together vision of care closer to home.\n<\/p>\n

\n “This achievement is the result of incredible collaboration across public, third-sector, and community partners.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Scotland\u2019s largest primary care facility and our first net-zero building, Parkhead Hub sets a new benchmark for integrated care.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Cllr Chris Cunningham, Glasgow City Council<\/a>\u2019s Convener for Health, Care and Caring, and Older People, said: “The new Parkhead Hub is, without doubt, an outstanding facility for the north-east of the city.\n<\/p>\n

\n “It\u2019s our ambition that everyone in Glasgow has the opportunity to lead healthier and more fulfilled lives, and with the vast range of facilities and services now under one roof, we can help achieve that.\n<\/p>\n

\n “As Scotland\u2019s largest health and social care centre, the Parkhead Hub is a fine example of co-locating services and partnership working.\n<\/p>\n

\n “It\u2019s a one-stop shop for residents to access services from a range of organisations including the city council, Glasgow Life, NHS and the health and social care partnership.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Bailie Annette Christie, Chair of Glasgow Life and Convenor for Culture, Sport and\n<\/p>\n

\n International Relations, said: \u201cThe opening of the Parkhead Hub has provided the\u00a0local area with a new and more accessible library, which is proving popular with the\u00a0whole community.\n<\/p>\n

\n “Our Parkhead Library team has been thrilled to welcome so many\u00a0new and familiar faces into its modern surroundings over the past year.\n<\/p>\n
