Prince Harry appeared to be laying groundwork for a long awaited reunion with King Charles as he seeks updated security arrangements for visits to the UK.<\/p>\n
The Duke of Sussex’s new step could ensure a safe return for himself, his wife Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as it would create the possibility of meetup with the monarch.<\/p>\n
According to latest reports, Harry requested an official assessment from the committee responsible for protecting members of the royal family and other public figures.<\/p>\n
In October, Harry wrote to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood following her appointment to formally ask for a risk assessment from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), which is managed by the Home Office, per a source close to the Duke.<\/p>\n
They added that now a formal security check has been ordered for Harry for the first time in several years, reported The Sun.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the matter, royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that securing proper protection may open the door to repairing his relationship with his father.<\/p>\n
She said, “What Harry wants is to have taxpayers pay, via the police, for his security whenever he wants it whilst in England.”<\/p>\n
“On Friday, the Home Office told him that they have granted him a risk management assessment. This is a result of all the lobbying Harry has done, which included, but was not limited to, writing to the Home Secretary,\u201d the expert added.<\/p>\n
“His security is now closer to reality. While there isn\u2019t anything definite yet, the trajectory of his case is in his favor. <\/p>\n
