A flood warning indicates that there is a serious risk of flooding to property, and thus immediate action is required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">If you are about to flood, NRW says you should do the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\" publication=\"walesonline\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Get your flood kit.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Prepare to move people and pets in your property to a safe place.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Move important, sentimental and valuable items.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Move or weigh down any large or loose items outside or in your garden.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Put flood gates and other protection equipment in place.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Turn off gas, electricity, and water.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Do not touch plugs and other sources of electricity when standing in flood water.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Move your car to higher ground or outside the flood risk area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">This applies to you if you live near one of the 12 places with a flood warning. These are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"unordered-list\" publication=\"walesonline\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Loughor at Ammanford and Llandybie<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Solva at Solva<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Ilston Brook at Ilston, Gower<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Cynin at St Clears<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Lower Clydach at Clydach Bridge<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Ely at Peterston Super Ely<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">Tidal area at Dale<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Ritec at Tenby<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Tyweli at Station Road, Llandysul<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Towy, between Llandeilo and Abergwili<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Cothi &#8211; low lying areas<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">River Cothi at Pontargothi and Pontynyswen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/0_Floods.jpg\" alt=\"The flood alerts and warnings affect most of Wales\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The flood alerts and warnings affect most of Wales(Image: NRW)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">The rest of the country remains under flood alerts. This means flooding is possible, and people should also prepare accordingly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">These include many coastal zones (like parts of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/pembrokeshire\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Pembrokeshire<\/a>, Cardigan Bay, and North-West Wales), major river catchments (such as the River Wye, River Dee, and catchments in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/gwynedd\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Gwynedd<\/a>, Powys, and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/ceredigion\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Ceredigion<\/a>), and inland catchments such as the Upper Severn catchment in Powys. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/flood-warning.naturalresources.wales\/?culture=en-GB\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here<\/a> to see the full list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">A Natural Resources Wales spokesperson has issued the following advice: &#8220;Please take care if you are travelling this morning and be aware of surface water impacts. We recommend you check your local <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wales-weather\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">weather<\/a> forecast and travel impacts before your journey and monitor your local surroundings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">&#8220;Do not walk or drive through floodwater and keep away from swollen riverbanks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">&#8220;High tides combined with strong winds could also see very large waves across our coast today and we are advising people to stay clear of promenades and the sea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">&#8220;Be prepared for floods and sign up for our warnings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">Storm Bram arrived in Wales overnight on Monday and into Tuesday as several Met Office warnings came into force across the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">There are currently three warnings in place which impact Wales until Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"walesonline\">The first is a yellow warning for rain which came into force at 6pm on Monday and will remain in place until 2pm on Tuesday.
