I LOVE MO<\/strong> SALAH<\/strong>. I really do. He\u2019s one of the greatest players I\u2019ve ever seen wearing our shirt and I\u2019ve seen the lot from Dalglish onwards.<\/p>\n I winced throughout last season when it looked like the club were going to let him leave on a free. Time and again I wrote about the club messing around with delays and negotiation tactics which would have been fine for anyone other than Mo Salah.<\/p>\n At this moment I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve been so annoyed with a player in my life.<\/p>\n Oh, I know. I\u2019ve read all the views. I\u2019ve read it as the final nail in Arne Slot\u2019s coffin. I\u2019ve read that he\u2019s being disrespected and, if anything, it\u2019s Cody Gakpo who should be facing time on the sidelines. I\u2019ve read that he\u2019s every right to speak his mind.<\/p>\n And I\u2019m not having a second of it. The content, the entitlement, the sheer arrogance, the lack of club omert\u00e0 and the timing.<\/p>\n I mean, what\u2019s it going to achieve? If Arne Slot is silently seething with Mo, this little stunt is hardly going to end with hugs at the training ground.<\/p>\n \u2018Oh, you wanted to play? Oh, you should have said. Sorry!\u2019<\/p>\n If anything it\u2019ll encourage the Dutchman to go the other way. \u2018If you think you can challenge me publicly, sunshine, I\u2019ll see you after the AFCON.\u2019<\/p>\n Oh, it\u2019s brought out sympathy from some quarters but I doubt anyone in the club will be impressed.<\/p>\n If you\u2019ve been average at best, haven\u2019t been producing your usual numbers and (and this is significant for a senior player) the team is going through a very sticky patch, you don\u2019t go bleating to the press after you\u2019ve been dropped for just\u2026<\/p>\n THREE<\/p>\n F______<\/p>\n GAMES!<\/p>\n Not months. Not a whole season. Not even a month. Just three games while the manager rejigs things to try to find a much-needed balance.<\/p>\n He\u2019s not out forever. He\u2019s just an option that may or may not help us find a way through this quagmire.<\/p>\n Three games, and he slaps his manager around the face. What\u2019s more, he\u2019s done it when \u2026<\/p>\n \u2018How I see it now is like you throw Mo under the bus because he is the problem in the team now. But I don\u2019t think I am the problem.\u2019<\/p>\n I mean, he\u2019s not THE problem but he\u2019s one of them. And there isn\u2019t anyone who doesn\u2019t think he can improve. The goal at Brentford aside, he\u2019s been a shadow of his former self though, of course, he\u2019s not alone there.<\/p>\n I hate that he\u2019s done something so breathtakingly stupid. The club should at least find a conciliatory path as he IS Mo Salah \u2013 but you don\u2019t ever do that.<\/p>\n When Robbie Fowler left Liverpool after a not so secret bust up with his manager, Gerard Houllier, he stated \u2018I\u2019ll never say anything bad about Liverpool,\u2019 because he respected the entity of it. This cry-arsing shows the exact opposite.<\/p>\n It needs an apology, it needs it now and it needs more work to get things right collectively. This is just pantomime played for likes and it stinks.<\/p>\n The club, his teammates, the entire staff and Mo\u2019s legacy deserve much better than this.<\/p>\n Work together or not at all. Today I\u2019m happy with either.<\/p>\n Liverpool first. Always.<\/p>\n
