It showed the previously announced lead Grace Ashcroft (daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, who features in spin-off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/resident-evil-outbreak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resident Evil Outbreak<\/a>) with a large image of Leon set behind her.<\/p>\n<p>To see this content please enable targeting cookies.<\/p>\n<p>Manage cookie settings <\/p>\n<p>Resident Evil Requiem has been confirmed to be showing at The Game Awards later this week, and this is presumably when Capcom intended to announce Leon&#8217;s inclusion in the game. However, PlayStation has unintentionally jumped the gun.<\/p>\n<p>Back in June of this year, game director Koshi Nakanishi claimed Leon simply wasn&#8217;t the kind of person who would &#8220;jump at something like a bucket falling&#8221;, and therefore making a &#8220;horror game based around him&#8221; would be tricky.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No one wants to see Leon scared by every little thing,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/leon-kennedy-actually-quite-a-bad-match-for-horror-says-resident-evil-9s-director\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nakanishi said<\/a>. &#8220;He&#8217;s actually quite a bad match for horror.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, the director was just trying to pull the wool over our eyes.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Resident Evil Requiem on the PlayStation store\" data-autosize=\"crop_lossy\" data-lightbox=\"\" data-uri=\"IMG_2154.jpg\" height=\"4284\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1.3333333333333333\" width=\"5712\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Resident Evil Requiem on the PlayStation store\" data-autosize=\"crop_lossy\" data-lightbox=\"\" data-uri=\"IMG_2152.jpg\" height=\"3024\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1.3333333333333333\" width=\"4032\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Image credit: Eurogamer<\/p>\n<p>As well as Grace and Leon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/resident-evil-requiem-leak-points-to-a-second-playable-character-and-it-isnt-leon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another character potentially set to appear in Resident Evil Requiem was also leaked yesterday<\/a> (don&#8217;t worry, I won&#8217;t spoil who it could be here).<\/p>\n<p>Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on 27th February, 2026, across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/resident-evil-7-re-engine-resi-switch-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X\/S<\/a>.
