The current cast of smash-hit West End and Broadway musical Hadestown<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> have issued some updates.<\/p>\n

Hadestown is now playing at London\u2019s Lyric Theatre, booking until 27 September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Desmonda Cathabel<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (Disney\u2019s Aladdin, Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream) who plays leading lady Eurydice in the show, has announced that she is leaving when her contract is up on 8 March 2026.<\/p>\n

The news comes as Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (City of Angels) plays her final weeks as Persephone in Hadestown, before her scheduled departure on 18 January 2026.<\/p>\n

We also understand that Dylan Wood<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (No Love Songs) as Orpheus is leaving on 8 March, although this is currently unconfirmed.<\/p>\n

The show also stars Chris Jarman<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Hades, and Cedric Neal<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (Guys & Dolls, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) as Hermes.<\/p>\n

They are joined by Melanie Bright, Allie Daniel and Lauran Rae<\/strong> as the Fates, with an ensemble including Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, Laura Delany, Sebastian Lim-Seet, Lucinda Buckley, Juan Jackson, Ois\u00edn Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda and Jasmine Triadi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hadestown is the acclaimed production by celebrated singer-songwriter Ana\u00efs Mitchell<\/strong> and Tony Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin<\/strong>. Blending modern American folk with vintage New Orleans jazz, the show reimagines the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone as a haunting, contemporary musical journey through the underworld.<\/p>\n

Following its record-breaking Broadway run<\/strong> and a much-praised staging at London\u2019s National Theatre, the production continues to thrive in the West End, where it has played to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim since opening at the Lyric Theatre in February 2023.<\/p>\n

In addition to its Broadway triumphs, Hadestown earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album<\/strong> and has been filmed in London for a forthcoming Hadestown Live in London release.<\/p>\n
