{"id":62305,"date":"2025-04-30T07:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T07:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62305\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T07:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T07:13:08","slug":"john-isner-claims-there-are-only-three-men-who-he-thinks-will-can-win-wimbledon-and-the-us-open-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62305\/","title":{"rendered":"John Isner claims there are only three men who he thinks will can win Wimbledon and the US Open this year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The ATP Grand Slam season is currently building towards the French Open, with Jannik Sinner having won the Australian Open at the start of 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/features\/the-top-10-players-with-the-most-consecutive-weeks-as-atp-number-one-as-jannik-sinner-surpasses-bjorn-borg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner is into his 47th week as number one<\/a>, despite not playing a match since lifting the Australian Open trophy in January.<\/p>\n<p>He can return from his three-month suspension well in time for the French Open, with many of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> rivals currently competing at the Madrid Open.<\/p>\n<p>World number three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> did, however, withdraw from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>He shared the Grand Slam titles with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/who-is-jannik-sinner-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-italian-tennis-star-and-his-rise-to-the-top\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner<\/a> in 2024, winning the French Open and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> as the Italian won the Australian Open and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/us-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2196007651-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Quinn Rooney\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-83145\" \/>Photo by Quinn Rooney\/Getty ImagesJohn Isner thinks only three men can win Wimbledon and the US Open<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/daniil-medvedev-appears-to-disagree-with-carlos-alcarazs-opinion-on-the-atp-masters-1000-tournaments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniil Medvedev likes two-week Masters<\/a> events such as the Madrid Open, but former professional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/john-isner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">John Isner<\/a> believes they are very different to Grand Slams.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the Nothing Major Show, the American said: \u201cThere is a lot more parity at these 1000 level events. There are probably 10 or 15 players who can conceivably win one.
