Christmas is underway in Rutherglen \u2013oh yes it is!<\/p>\n

All the fun and tradition of panto \u2013 with a modern twist \u2013 is entertaining audiences at the town\u2019s production of Jack and the Beanstalk.<\/p>\n

For the 12th year running, South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) and New College Lanarkshire have combined to bring together professional actors and students to provide a top-quality show and showcase local talent.<\/p>\n

Jack and the Beanstalk will be staged at Rutherglen Town Hall from December 10 to 23.<\/p>\n

The production will delight audiences of all ages with a high-energy, heart-warming re-imagining of the classic tale.<\/p>\n

Audiences will share in the fun provided by Jack, the Giant, Jack\u2019s true love Princess Lulu, fairy-in-training Farquhar who pines for Jack\u2019s sister, Jessie, and Moomoo, the disco-dancing cow.<\/p>\n

Gregor Duncan, academic leader for performing art at New College Lanarkshire, said: \u201cWe are really excited to be working with South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture for a 12th year and will be working with them over the coming months to give audiences a wonderful lead into the festive season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kay Morrison, chief executive of SLLC, said: \u201cThis highlights our close relationship with New College Lanarkshire and our commitment to giving local talent a platform to demonstrate their talents and potential.\u201d<\/p>\n
