Today, the area is a much-desired urban village with a rich cultural heritage, beloved for its independent shops and caf\u00e9s, traditional pubs, and chic boutiques, all wrapped in a tranquil yet sophisticated ambience.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe interior architecture is the work of Simon Bowden of E8 Architecture, formerly of\u00a0 Foster + Partners. Bowden\u2019s design philosophy centers on flexible, open-plan living that appears deceptively simple while maximizing natural light. Classic materials anchor the space: Oak flooring, Italian marble, and natural stone create a contemporary and elegant feel. The interior design by Phil Waterson of Waterson Consultancy overlays the light-filled space with a sense of drama. The journey begins upon entering The Rossetti, where the deep gray lobby, framed by Crittall glass doors, opens onto an enfilade of rooms bathed in natural light. Floor-to-ceiling windows front the penthouse, framing views of the rooftop garden and London\u2019s skyline beyond.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe generous proportions of the rooms complement the invitingly sculptural B&B Italia furniture (included with the penthouse) and a carefully selected collection of contemporary pieces. In the living area, a crescent-shaped sofa is illuminated by a 1930s Art Deco ceiling lamp. Centering the entertainment area is a Welsh black slate bioethanol fireplace, while in the dining room, where custom cabinetry lines the walls, a modern Venetian chandelier hangs from a dark industrial steel frame.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe private areas of the home are equally exquisitely furnished, featuring stunning contemporary works of art, softening drapes, and thoughtfully curated books and accessories. Notes Waterson, \u201cI explored the fantastic shops in Marylebone village to accessorize the penthouse. I wanted to imbue The Rossetti with the feel of the neighborhood and continue that sense of location and community by working with local shops and services.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tE8 architects collaborated with Italian design firm Salvatori, who appointed the sleek and sumptuous bathrooms with Gris du Marais marble in its dappled gray-brown pattern.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 1,400-square-foot wraparound terrace subtly divides into a series of distinct \u201crooms,\u201d creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. The interior\u2019s curved picture windows, balusters, and organic forms are mirrored outside in the ribbon-like planters of staggered height that both add dynamism to the terrace landscaping and also preserve privacy. Says Waterson, \u201cI wanted the greenery of the terrace garden to become an intrinsic part of the interior experience.\u201d He worked with landscape architect Joe Brimson, who planted specimen trees, contrasting foliage forms and textures, perennial grasses, and white-flowering shrubs and perennials that bloom throughout the year. The result is a jaw-dropping sky garden\u2014a spectacular sight from inside the home and a serene sanctuary when you\u2019re outside.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Rossetti is one of seven available penthouses in Marylebone Square, a new mixed-use landmark building developed by Concord London.
