Mohamed Salah<\/a> has thrown down the gauntlet to his Liverpool<\/a> team-mates, urging them to compete for the Premier League<\/a> crown again next year and declaring there will be ‘no excuses’ for failure. Liverpool<\/a>‘s leading marksman, Salah, has had an incredible season, notching up 28 league goals and 18 assists, which propelled the Reds to clinch their 20th top-flight title after thrashing Tottenham<\/a> 5-1 at a vibrant Anfield last Sunday.<\/p>\n

Amid speculation concerning his future, Salah committed to the club with a new two-year contract earlier in April, all set to lead the charge as the team embarks on defending their title in the forthcoming season.<\/p>\n

In a reflective post on Instagram<\/a>, Salah stated: “This is what we wanted to deliver to our fans more than anything. This is a club that should always compete for everything and be right at the top. No excuses. All teams win games but in the end there’s only one champion. That’s what history remembers and this applies to next season as well.”<\/p>\n

Salah’s fervent commitment arrives a year following his pledge to the Liverpool<\/a> faithful, vowing they would “fight like hell” for glory following a lacklustre conclusion to Jurgen Klopp<\/a>‘s final term at the helm.<\/p>\n

Despite lifting the Carabao Cup in February 2024, the Reds were staging a formidable challenge on three fronts \u2013 aiming for glory in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League, before their campaign lost momentum in the final stretches of the season.<\/p>\n

Salah wrote at that time: “We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell.”<\/p>\n

Sporting a radiant grin on Sunday, Salah revelled in the Premier League triumph before a live crowd, a poignant moment missed in 2020 when fan celebrations were curtailed by Covid<\/a> measures.<\/p>\n

Reveling in the joy of this victory, he said: “This is way better, 100 per cent. Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen [Klopp], without Bobby [Firmino] and everybody. It’s more special with the fans.<\/p>\n

“You have a different group now, a different manager and it shows that you are able to do it again.
