A notorious football hooligan<\/a> whose life changed after winning a EuroMillions<\/a> fortune has named the toughest firm in England. Daniel Wright, who has received three football banning orders in his time, used to cause chaos with a Bradford City <\/a>gang called The Ointment. His violent past has included being jailed for six years.<\/p>\n But he is now better known as someone who won \u00a31,000,000 on the UK Millionaire Maker in April 2022, a mighty windfall that inspired him to buy a new home and a swanky Rolex worth \u00a340,000.<\/p>\n And despite now living a different life in the market town of Yarm, Durham, Daniel, 41, recently reflected on his hooligan past<\/a>.<\/p>\n Asked about the toughest footie mob he ever faced, he responded: \u201cThe best firm I have ever seen, Manchester United<\/a> at Bradford.<\/p>\n \u201cAnyone who tells you Man Utd are not a good firm are chatting absolute s***e. Their numbers are just f***ing massive.\u201d<\/p>\n Elaborating on the Anything Goes with James English podcast<\/a>, Daniel added: \u201cI would say early naughties, they were the best in the country by a long way. That was possibly their peak. They were really good then. Really good.\u201d<\/p>\n He then claimed they once brought 600 fans who were ready to go toe to toe on the streets.<\/p>\n Asked if that was the reason why they were the best, he added: “Definitely, because who else can get 600?\u201d<\/p>\n However, Daniel, who said The Ointment were too inconsistent to be considered the most fierce, then paid homage to other rivals who came close to being as infamous as The Red Army.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cMy top five would probably be, not in any particular order, Man Utd, Tottenham<\/a>, Millwall, Birmingham\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n After a pause, he continued: \u201cMiddlesborough, Sheffield United, Leeds, Aston Villa<\/a>, them teams I would probably have up there as well.\u201d<\/p>\n And singling out Leeds, he later added: \u201cI would say in my time we have always got the better of Leeds but I have seen Leeds on their day, like England Turkey in the Stadium of Light.<\/p>\n \u201cThat firm of Leeds I seen that day was an absolutely unbelievable firm. They are a top firm on their day, you can\u2019t deny that.\u201d<\/p>\n It is not the first time Daniel has been open about his terrace days and he once told Danny Dyer\u2019s Real Football<\/a> Factory that no drug comes close to being present when opposing fans clash, describing it as the \u201cbest buzz in the world<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n He also penned a fictionalised biography called Northern Monkeys which is loosely inspired by his rise in The Ointment firm.<\/p>\n![\"Daniel](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1765364124_671_0_Daniel-Wright.jpg\")
