Susanna Reid<\/a> found herself briefly centre stage on Good Morning Britain<\/a> on Wednesday morning as co-host Richard Madeley<\/a> interrupted proceedings to mark a personal milestone.<\/p>\n

Sitting alongside Reid ahead of the next news item, Madeley paused the programme<\/a> with what he described as \u201cone thing\u201d he had just spotted in a newspaper.<\/p>\n

Turning to his co-presenter, he asked: \u201cThere’s just one thing, a story I’ve realised is in The Times this morning, what do you and Sir Kenneth Branagh have in common?\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid immediately clocked the cue, smiling as she replied: \u201cOh, I know this one!\u201d<\/p>\n

As Madeley wished her a happy birthday on air, Reid laughed: \u201cIt’s my birthday, we’re going to party like it’s my birthday!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you so much,\u201d she added, before joking: \u201cI\u2019m halfway to 110.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve never heard it put that way before, you’re catching me up, I’ll wait for you,\u201d Madeley quipped of Reid.<\/p>\n

Reid, who turned 55, then neatly steered the show back on course, telling viewers: \u201cIt\u2019s lovely to be here and we\u2019ve got lots of lovely things to enjoy this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fixture of British breakfast television, Reid previously co-presented BBC Breakfast between 2001 and 2014, before joining Good Morning Britain<\/a> that year.<\/p>\n

Since then, she has fronted ITV\u2019s morning programme<\/a> alongside a rotating roster of co-hosts including Madeley, Ed Balls, Piers Morgan and Ben Shephard.<\/p>\n

The broadcaster previously reflected on her future on the morning stalwart.<\/p>\n

She said in an 2022 interview: \u201cI love Good Morning Britain<\/a> so much, doing what I do is an enormous privilege. It’s a pillar of my life. I wouldn’t want to do anything else!<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve been doing breakfast TV for as long as I’ve been a mum. That’s two decades of getting up at 3.45am!\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid\u2019s surprise on-air moment comes against the backdrop of sweeping changes at ITV\u2019s daytime line-up<\/a>.<\/p>\n

From 2026, Lorraine will be significantly scaled back, with Lorraine Kelly\u2019s show reduced to a 30-minute slot, airing from 9.30am to 10am for just 30 weeks of the year on a seasonal basis.<\/p>\n

Good Morning Britain<\/a> will be extended by 30 minutes, running from 6am to 9:30am.<\/p>\n

For the 22 weeks that Lorraine is not airing, GMB will take over the additional half hour, continuing until 10am.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Loose Women has also been cut to a 30-week schedule.<\/p>\n
