A teenager has gone missing, prompting an appeal for help. South Wales Police<\/a> say Leo has gone missing from the Swansea<\/a> area, and that there is concern for his welfare. The 17-year-old also has links to the Ely area of Cardiff<\/a>. He was last seen on Tuesday, December 9, wearing a matching blue tracksuit and Nike trainers.<\/p>\n Police have released a description of the young man in the hopes that anyone with information will come forward.<\/p>\n A statement from South Wales Police read: “Help us find Leo, 17, from Swansea, is missing and there is concern for his welfare.<\/p>\n Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter here<\/a><\/p>\n “Leo has links to Ely, Cardiff, where he was last seen on Tuesday afternoon (December 9).<\/p>\n “He was wearing a full matching blue tracksuit, a black waterproof jacket, white Nike Air Force trainers with a black tick.<\/p>\n “Leo is 6ft 2ins tall and of slim build.<\/p>\n “Any sightings or information, please contact us quoting 2500390169.”<\/p>\n You can contact police via its website<\/a>, by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously, quoting the reference number.<\/p>\n South Wales Police said it receives, on average, more than 8,000 missing persons reports every year.<\/p>\n It said a missing person is defined as someone whose whereabouts cannot be established and they will be considered missing until they are located and their wellbeing or otherwise is established.<\/p>\n Its website reads: “Often the missing person themselves does not consider themselves \u2018missing\u2019.<\/p>\n “However until they are sighted safe and well by police as a result of the concerns raised for them they will be classed as a missing person.<\/p>\n “While we appreciate our communities\u2019 concerns when a person goes missing, and the genuine offers of help and support, we kindly ask that the public don\u2019t conduct their own searches.<\/p>\n “We ask this for a number of reasons; our searches are coordinated by highly-trained, well-equipped search experts who take an intelligence-led, methodical approach which everyone involved understands and follows.”<\/p>\n Get Swansea news updates<\/strong> on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
